fifit forecast. >> the high wind warning has been put into affect for much of eastern iowa for the rest of the afternoon and until six. winds could gust up to 60 0 miles an hoururnd gusting to 50 out there right now and that is leading to a warm-up in our temperatures. 51 in cedar rapids and that is a mera shake. temperatures across the area in the south are in the 50s and into the north and the 40 degrees mark. the winds will continue through the day and most of the area are under the high wind warning. those two are in the south and under a wind advisory. sustained winds right now at 40 miles per hour. they're sustained winds and so you want to use caution on the roads. definitely not the greatest time to be outside. even the wind gusts are up to near 50 miles an hour. we have had gusts from 45 to 55. and now, the pipes are going to start to die down.

death in the ced-red motel in cedar rapids. witnesses told c-b-s 2 news that lehman and lint got into an argument before the stabbing.lehman witnesses said that they got into an argument _ov77_:iq_=wk* nu stabbing and he will have to serve 32ive years now before becoming eligible for patrol. and friends, family, and colleagues are paying their respects to antonin scalia. his body is laying in the great hall of the highest court and a live look now where his cas getet arrivevethis morning. his former law clerk served as honorary pallbearers. after the ceremony, the public was allowed in to view the body. people from around the country came to pay their respect. >> and he was someone who stood up for what he believed in and what he thinks is right to our country. >> i expect them to --

arrive to pay his respects today, but he won't attend the funeral tomorrow. the white house is sending vice president biden, saying he had a personal relationship p th authth.harper lee passed away this morning at her home in alabama.she is best known for writing "to kill a mockingbird" which was released in 19-61.the only other book she wrote was a prequel to "mockingbird" which wasn't released until last year.haper lee was 89 years old. the zika virus is offially now in iowa. this morning, the department of public health announced the news. they say the person recently traveled to a country where zika is widely reported. the department is not releasing the name of the woman or where she is from. recently, the president asked congress for nearly two-billion dollars to help fight zika virus. yesterday, house republicans told the president the fastest way to get money would be to tata it from the funds left from the ebola crisis. optometrists will be very busy in a few decades.

the high wind warning is in affect until 6:00 and that is because the winds are going )_ %to stay elevated and gusts could be as high as 60 miles an hour and you want to use caution on the road and we want to use exexa caution if you're on the highways p3ovmq+5 and13especially those running north to south. otherwise, this remains in affect until 6:00. our southern counties down in cook and washington. you still have a wind advisory in affect. the winds sustained at 30 to 40 miles per hour and straight out of the west. and there have been gusts reported up to 50 miles an hour. 54 the last hour here in cedar rapids; 52 in dabuke; 47, monticello and the strong winds are going to continue the rest of the day. temperatures a going to attetet to rebound into the 50s, especially in the southern counties and they will fall tonight. they'll be cooler the past few nights, especially last night with the temperatures near 40 degrees and fallling into the 30s.

what you can expect is a windy friday, above average temperatures continue and an overall calm pattern that continues the next few days. we had a cold front move through the area and it's the, rather, low pressure system now that is leading to the strong winds that will be continuing over the next 12 hours. the front moved to the east and we're going to stay clear the next few days. we could have a system approach us on sunday. that can lead to some rain-snow mix in the northern counties. otherwise, mostly dry and calm. the winds will also start to die down, but we'll start off and keep the wins, rather, the 40 degrees gusts throughout the rest of the day.

going to be arrested for ssing jury ty and then the caller offers a payment option. the local sheriff's department. (sot-mark doggett/received scam call)"he knew our address our phone number."it's called the jury duty scam - con >> he knew our address, our phononnumber. reporter: it's called the jury duty scam. con artists said you missed jury duty and you're going to be arrested unless you pay up. >> all you have to do is send money via pay pal and that is when i knew, you know, something was wrong. >> reporter: don't believe the caller. >> no mike with -- monique with the federal trade commission said these types of scams are on the rise nationwide. in many cases, they use spoofing to make the number look like it comes from a local court or police department. investigators even discovered prisoners in georgia pulling
