>> reporter: police and body cameras are a hot topic of discussion across the nation. but new concerns about privacy may prevent them from becoming part of law in iowa. >> it serves as an additional step to make the officers to store so much video and peoples privacy has put the issue on the back burner in the iowa legislature. legislature.it's only released via subpoena or if it's in the best interest of the public and that would be through the chiefs office here. 7currently iowa law enforcement agencies develop their own policies on camera usage but many argue that unified regulatis willbenefit officers and the public. public. t t public has a much more clearly defined expectation of what will be done when they encounter an officer using one of these and what will happen with those recordings. 10along with privacy issues the body cam

that cold for now. there's a stronger storm that will pass to the sou this week. temperatures were cooler. they were in the 40s about 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year. we had a bak from the 30s. even with the clouds, temperatures still rose. clouds will be moving back in later on tonight. temperatures across the area are near and below that freezing mark. further to the south, temperatures are falling closer to 32 degrees. most of the area will be below the freezing mark tonight. clouds will move become in, though. temperatures falling after midnight down to the mid to upper 20s. tomorrow avrn temperatures will increase towards the 40 degree markrkven with clouds.

it has been little calm with little to no rain or snow over the past few days. a systst w wl approach the area on tuesday but likely won't bring much rain or snow at all. a stronger storm to the south will be developing. the track will be staying to the south. so parts could get rain or snow but it likely stays away from our area. zooming in here,e, we'll have the clouds throughout the day on monday. on tuesday, clouds will build back in. possible areas of drizzle and flurries. not a lot of activity, though. this next storm system will likely leave us alone as it passes to the south of east skft

after that, there is some models suggesting cold air moving back into the midwest that could bring below average temperatures. but check out the date on this. february 27th. so likely next weekend into parts of march is when we can expect the colder temperatures to return. we'll keep an eye on it. you can get the latest on cbs2iowa.com. later tonight, upper 20s and partly to mostly cloudy skies. tomorrow temperatures will be increasing despite cloud cover. further knot north still inhe 30s, but everybody above 32. for the next couple of days, things starts to change just a bit. a slight chance of rain and snow.
