the city says it's facing reduced revenue from having the system shut down by the state. that issue is currently being appealed. ththcity is facing less revenue because of lower commercial property taxes. >> gender neutral bathrooms are now the norm at a des moines high school. it's something that's gotten a lot of attention on our facebook page since we posted it early afternoon. roosevelt high school has two bathrooms with signs that say all gender. the bathrooms are being opened as a way to accommodate students and staff who are transgender. >> we have a responsibility as the adults in this building to make sure our students feel included, feel safe, feel accepted. i've actually felt ashamed we haven't done this before. >> most students say they appreciate the idea. some say they think it will take a little it of time to get used to. >> a young cedar rapids theater

that state earlier this afternoon. those tragedies mean the death toll now stand at 6:00 afafr two people were killed overnight at an rv park in louisiana. dozens of others are injured in these storms. tonight the storms are continuing their push up the east coast with millions of people again at risk. locally more clouds today but overall calm conditions. >> meteorologist rebecca coleman. >> it's calm. it's going to remain calm over the next couple of days, really not going to be making too much noise with any weather systems over the next seven days. we're going to break it down here. for now we have clouds and temperatures in the mid-30s across the area. clouds are staying in overhead. just to theast is a storm system that's been producing these strong storms along the east coast. also bringing snow across the great lakes region.

right now are in the mid to upper 30s. now that the sun has set and these temperatures are falling low the freezing mark. winds are helping usher in the colder air. they're gogog to stay elevated around 15-20 miles per hour. we could have gusts as high as 30 miles per hour throughout the night. and through tomorrow. your hour-by-hour forecast showing temperatures falling through the 30s into the mimito upper 20s across the area. clouds are going to stick around through the morning hours. and then we'll start to see some clearing tomorrow. what we can expect moving forward is near average temperatures, so where they should be this time of year, the mid to upper 30s. we'll have a mild, enjoyable week up ahead with spring like temperatures returning. the system is just returning to the east. that's what's producing the clouds in our area and the winds. eats ranging from snow, a mix to strong thunderstorms
