has just ended. the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.that happened in north charleston.the deputy was shot when a suspect she was trying to arrest began fighting her.the deputy went into surgery earlrlr this rning and is in stable condition. cbs 2 news has the latest on a developing story out of kansas this morning. morning.where four people are dead -- including a gunman -- after a series of shootings. shootings.it all happened in the hesston area, which is about 35 miles north of wichita wichitafollowing those shootings, and after the gunman, cedric ford, was killed, police was killed, police surrounded ford's mobile home late last night. neighbors called police when they heard music blaring from the mobile home.at first officers believed someone *was inside, but when they finally made entry, they didn't find anyone.authorities are not releasing whahathey did find. 14 others were injured in the shooitngs, and 10 of the victims are still in critical condition.authorities say there were four shooting

earlier in the week -- one of tornadoes hit louisiana earlier in the week. one of those was alsls an ef-3. two people were killed in that storm. >> when a sexual assault occurs rape kits are an porm tool to identy suspects and bring them to justice. now the iowa attorney general's office is looking to eliminate a backlog of untested kits. they cano untested for many reasons often because the victim doesn't want to pursue charges. the kit use dna evidence that's put in a national database. blimenting the backlog could help -- they are currently working to complete surveys to inventory all untested kits. his client has a mental disorder. he's charged with first-degree murder and sexual assault and his layer -- put on hold.

- it's now we're taking a look at your_______ your_______ this week, some girls across eastern iowa were missing something that's normally part of their every day lives. lives.and they wanted everyone to know about it, so using the hashtag "gussy down" they declared their freedom on twitter. i talked with the young lady behind this movement movementin today's beyond the books. books. it was a little bit awkward a felt kinda naked felt a little shyer a little more reserved. these girls all have one thing in common. common. a couple people asked

can you even tell? tell?t feels nice. nice. none of them are wearing makeup. it's part of a week long pledge called hashtag gussy down. promotes the notion that women should have the option to wear makeup it shouldnt be an expectation of them. them. amelia is an iowa big student and has helped continue the gussy down tradition that was started in 2014 through the success she project. she wants to help change the expectation that women have to wear makeup. women in the biz field feel its not professional to not wear makeup to work. and we want them to know they still can. if youre dressing professionaly theres nothing wrong with wearning no make up. up. more than 400 women and *men took the gussy down pledge this week. which just means they promise to go the whole weekekithout wearing any makeup. makeup. people wondering do you wear makeup yourself? the answer is no. but anyone can pledge wether or not you wear makeup. makeup. theres nothing wrong
