right now on cbs 2 this morning...how eastern iowans are still dealing with the aftermath of devastating flooding. the severe weather that ravaged other parts of the midwest. how eastern iowa -- iowa's are still dealing with devastating flooding. all eyes are on the flooding this morning that continues across north and east iowa. let's get into flood warnings we have an effect and we see across the north and east iowa brummett decorah area continuing. fayette county area flood warning through 11 30:00 a.m.

this morning. then we turn our attention over toward clayton county. flood warnings will stay in effect until 7:00 a.m. on sunday morning. as of 5:00 a.m. the truckee river in spill so continues to recede so that is good news. the class of 2000 yesterday. the truckee river in el dorado at 23. 75 feet. that is falling but the continues to rise. al qaeda currently 13. 1 feet that will crest at 25 feet tonight. the last few hours have been comfortable in the lower 70s. we are giving to the low 60s as we start the day. a live look on doppler radar with showers in southeast iowa. will drop to the upper 60s over

the afternoon and 80 degrees. authorities in chickasaw county were not able to save the driver pleading for help as he was swept away by flooding. happen just after 4:30 a.m. wednesday morning. authorities say a driver called 911 saying floodwaters pushed his car off the road. later rescuers found the man's --r near waller but no sign of affecting parts of eastern iowa.school officials in decorah and riceville have cancelled classes again today. decorah schools were forced to close on their first day back yesterday.flood waters damaged several homes and businesses. some were forced out of their homes before it was too late. we can hear water right away when when we got to our bedroom door we ran through the kitchen and opened the basement and it was like a tidal wave of water the basement was filling up and the walls had collapsed in the

authorities in scott county have arrested this man, 30-year- old donald coyne on child endangerment charges. they say he broke the bones of his three -week-old baby. back in april doctors tipped off police that the baby had multiple broken bones including a broken bone. that led to an investigation and now he is behind bars with a court date set for next friday. if found guilty he could face the next ten years in prison. a new policy is in effect for iowa prison inmates. the iowa department in proved a gender dysphoria management policy. it requires prison staff to use an image preferred pronoun and first name. it also makes way for individualized plans for medical care for inmates with gender disorder. the new policy will not apply to county jails or community correction facilities. in iowa there are six inmates who classify as gender dysphoric or transgender. a search committee is in place to find the next president of the university of northern iowa.
