along the turkey river are getting ready for bed with a little less weight on their shoulders. g&a ryan joins us now. tell us about the rising optimism? >> reporter: it is rising because the water levels are lowering. earlier in al qaeda the river crested at 22 feet but it did not reach the feared level high. it actually reached 5 feet lower than the forecast. level waters devoured much of the town. they are focusing on what they are faithful port rather than what they lost . >> so many people showed up from high school children to elderly people to just -- in droves they were showing up. nobody really needed to tell anybody what to do. they just that . in a news conference today community leaders thanked those volunteers preparing and cleaning up this flood.

degrees. >> you can see this is all ground clutter right out of here this is an area of rain. advancing to the evening hours tonight. right now concentrated rains extend from new hampton all the way back to waverley and waterloo them right back down into grunting county. -- grundy county. further to the south we are looking at new rains beginning to develop in our far southern and western county moving into keokuk and iowa county shortly and then spreading across the rest of the weekend -- region. it does depict the heaviest amounts of rain across the north and west. it does look like there will be places that probably end up with more than 6/10 of an inch of rain.

school -- scoots in. >> obviously it feels good to beat any team really, but beating a really great team like that there's obviously -- the score kind of shows you -- it was a close game. fighting tooth and nail for it. and we just came out on top in rushed in from 68 yards out, 32 yards out and 62 yards out. three rushing touchdowns. this kid is a game breaker and the saints will be riding him all season long. it will be fun to watch certainly. still to come will the warriors spoil the party for the hawks a?
