part of the state as this front continues to push to the south. we have some sunshine here in cedar rapids. plenty of it really. 77 degrees because of the sunshine. we have warmed up in spots. 77 in iowa city. still at 72 in 20 weight -- decorah and temperature started off in the middle 50s. it has taken time to we have dry air moving in throughout the morning hours and is starting to make its way down to southern parts of eastern iowa. the dew points are well into the 50s in northern parts of the states and that is some dry air with fog light conditions. they will continue to fall as they had to the south and that's going to bring in some very nice weather and some relief to the heat and humidity we have had.

mid-to upper 70s across eastern iowa, a touch 80 in spots and later on tonight skies stay clear and temperatures fall into the 50s we talk about how low the temperatures will go by morning in just a moment. first, why this is happening is because we've had a dip in the jet stream and the upper levels of the atmosphere. this will permit in north east flow and this will stay this way for when we have this northeast flow in the upper app and sphere it leads to cooler conditions. that's what it feels nice and it will stay that way to the end of this week and effect we won't see a warm-up until monday until warmer air moves in. we have some really nice weather here in eastern iowa, not just because we have more sunshine and dry conditions but because it is going to feel know's -- feel so nice outside. lately the dew points in the 70s. on the sticky scale feels

but now we are headed toward the comfortable range and dewpoints falling to the upper 50s. for thursday, friday and saturday dew points in the mid- 50s throughout the afternoon. it's going to feel very nice outside and in fact you don't notice it bump up until late, late sunday and into monday and tuesday. that's where we have the moisture move back in. today high temperatures topping out in the mid to upper 70s and i really want to show you these numbers for tonight falling down into the low and we could have upper 40s in spots the better chance for 40s comes tomorrow night with some pretty cool air in place and we will have nice conditions to the end of this week with temperatures in the mid 70s, low temperatures in the mid-50s through friday night and we don't start a warm-up until late sunday and monday and tuesday where we have the next chance for showers and storms. some nice weather for much of labor day weekend.
