right now, workers in linn county are a big step closer to a higher minimum wage. wage.the first reading of a new ordiance cleared the board of supervisors today on vote of 4-to-1. cbs 2 news reporter joe huisinga joins us live with the questions still being asked before a final decision . the proposal would raise the county minimum wage from $7.25

raise the minimum wage from 7.2 5 to 10.25 over 3 years, but there's questions. >> the linn county supervisors want to raise the minimum wage. >> we're in this position because the state has not done anything in 10 years. the supervisors generally agree, but they removed an automatic raise consumer price index. >> i don't believe in tying the hands of future policymakers to a formula. you need to consider all the circumstances that are at that particular time, 2020, in this case, for future increases in the minimum wage. >> the count see is -- county is sold on a minimum wage, many are not.
