approaching from northwest in both of these will come together and bring close to the region. by tomorrow there will be showers in the forecast. here's today's high temperatures and it's nice and warm out there. cedar rapids at 83. still some 70s up north. the court did not get above 77 degrees. current temperatures are cooling down pretty good. in our northern counties it's also monticello with that temperature. the dew points are back in the 60s around eastern iowa. that's down from yesterday. that tropical moisture is lurking in missouri and coming back at us to make a humid afternoon. that will lead to showers and thunderstorms. this is what's left of newton

that energy should bring heavy rains south to the missouri. this will come across minnesota and that one should drink heavy rains to northern iowa, minnesota and wisconsin. there could be a split in eastern iowa with heavy rains to the south and some to the north. in northeastern iowa could be closer to the northern stream system. you may see heavier rains there. elsewhere the amounts are looking manageable. as far as temperatures for tomorrow our readings should be in the upper 70s to lower 80s as we get into the afternoon hours. you can see the moisture working its way back to eastern iowa. that will be there to help the showers produce the rain as they come through during the afternoon and evening. that system does move by quickly. saturday and sunday the rain is out of the forecast.
