county, back to the cascade area, dyersville, hazel green just south of manchester. we continue to look finding scattered showers around waynesburg towards the tama county area. we take you real quick up northeast iowa where people are seeing a few scattered showers develop in oelwein, back toward fairbank and north of waterloo. take your umbrella with you there are clouds and rain south of dubuque as we look on the skycam there. this bridge just a few miles north of the regional airport where they are reporting some showers and city five. temperatures upper 60s to low 70s in cedar rapids about 72 today. we will have the full forecast coming up in about ten minutes. we continue to track and officer-involved shooting in cedar rapids this morning.

cbs news reporter stephanie johnson is live at the apartment complex where it happened late last night. >> reporter: good morning, we are learning police were called out to the valley high apartment complex, edgewood road northwest for a domestic disturbance. the disturbance to poise up the hill the high me. police said it happened around 5:30 this morning. they tell us the shooting happened around 9:30 last night and the person killed was a 25- not been released. he died overnight at st. luke's hospital. the officers names have not been released but will soon be stephanie johnson cbs 2 news. we have a developing story in the korean penisula. penisula.the united states sent nuclear capable -- super-sonic bombers over south korea in a show of force.the move is intended to warn north korea after the isolated country's latest nuclear test and to settle nerves in south

the older we get, the more we measure quality of life by the numbers. so when washington politicians like rod blum keep voting to raise social security's retirement age to 70, it's time to pay attention. for years, he's pressed to privatize social security, risking seniors' guaranteed benefits on the stock market. and blum even supports cutting social security benefits. that's a plan for our seniors that doesn't add up for iowa.

scattered showers and storms moved to the forecast this morning. club, showers, and yes, cooler temps, cities and 70s today friends. here are the numbers, upper 60s, about 70 at lunchtime. some of you the weather stops at the mid-60s. cedar rapids and iowa city low 70s with scattered showers. there is doppler, and as you see plenty of rain to be had. south of manchester dubuque thundershowers, some heavy rains. and towards waterloo and back towards northeast iowa we are starting to see scattered showers and tea storms develop. nothing severe is expected today but we are going to keep a watchful eye on showers and some rumbles of number -- thunder throughout the day. look at this, we are looking off to the east.
