meeting with the teen.that led to the linn county attorney filing the new charge against haglin.she was again booked at the linn county jail today before posting bail. new charge. she was again booked at the lynn county jail today before posting bail. long time principal. the school district says they failed to follow mandated protocol while investigating the relationship. continues coverage, a benton county murder trial. a week's worth of testimony in the case wrapped up today. he is accused of stabbing and strangling at their home last year in benton county. today the testimony focused on dna evidence. prosecutors questioned the crime lab specialist about the -- left in the home and on the body. >> i would state that david

stories across the corridor. tonight - bruce harreld is ?officially the 21st president of the university of iowa. harreld was installed at the university this afternoon -- but he's been on the job for the last 10 months.today he accepted the symbols of his office -- including the presidential seal.to celebrate - a free concert and pep rally were held after the ceremony. the indian creek nature center this weekend is marking the grand opening of its new amazing space.today, leaders formally new building to a solar cell that will power it.this building is one of the most environmentally-friendly in the state because it generates all its energy from the sun. the nature center will have a variety of events through sunday starting with yoga and 7 a-m and campfires until 10 p-m. a cedar rapids school is also celebrating a big milestone. harding middle school just wrapped up an open house celebrating the school's 51st anniversary.students and staff

gallagher: this type of disaster hits, it's like, "man, what do we do? where do we start?" after the flood, when we came in here, there was nothing left. there's no way we're gonna do this ourselves. people like monica vernon really fought to get the assistance that led to the recovery. it took vision. it took courage. there is a true community spirit. i don't think she asked anybody after the flood whether they were democrat or republican. she took the bull by the horns, saw a problem that needed to be solved, and she solved it.
