this area and some of those same spots that flooded in 2008 the worst case scenario take us up to 31 feet and where we work with the flood of 2008. there you have mercy hospital underwater, jones park underwater. not as bad as 2008 but the potential is there for a lot of loss of property. we have been putting these warnings out to businesses and individuals and we will start getting e as of right now it's 24 feet. it takes the rain that we had but it doesn't take into account the rain coming sunday into monday and tuesday and we will keeping a watchful eye. let's get into weather graphics and we begin with doppler radar. thunderstorms continuing to roll through dubuque and in to manchester and back toward delaware county and the good news is the heaviest of rain is moving away or stephanie was in butler county they are seeing

rumbles of thunder. rain falls near grundy. letter showers near blairstown back toward the benton tao we -- benton county area. this is a 24 hour estimate. the last 48 hours you can see where the heaviest rain was and we will throw those numbers up on the map. in parts of butler county they saw as much as 12 inches of rainfall as we zoom in. we will show you the dots anywhere from six to 12 inches and accumulation with -- these folks had flooding a couple weeks ago. flood warning continue up there towards north and east iowa. flash flood stays into effect for blackhawk, butler all the way back. this is the meat and potatoes of the portion if -- we want

feet expected to crest at 99.2 feet on sunday. that is it -- within a few feet of 2008. waterloo the river nine feet currently and expected to be 11 feet above flood stage. major flooding. in vinton 12 feet. the water rushes downstream and that's two feet belowh flood forecast 24.1 feet, major flooding and that is six feet below it -- where was in 2008. these numbers can fluctuate but as of right now considering the rain we've had in taking into account the next few hours of rain that where we stand. the rain is moving off to the

oelwein and the dew point ranges from the mid to upper 60s. look at the wind out of the south. still feeding the added humidity in the forecast. the rain continues to move out. we will keep shattered scours -- scattered showers for the next few hours. 64 with clearing tomorrow night and dry much needed weather for saturday. 84 degrees there. sunday and wednesday, four more days of rain with 70s and scattered showers each one of of those days out there. we are not out of the woods yet. i think around cedar rapids and iowa city we were lucky to spirit the instantaneous weather they saw last night -- lucky to escape the serious weather -- we are carrying the

satellite and radar with plenty of cloud cover and scattered showers. the heaviest of rain is coming to an end. that is the good news. unfortunately we have more scattered showers and thunderstorms. 79 this afternoon and 70s tonight at nine and we could still see thunderstorm chances. flash flood warning in northern iowa and flash flood warning in effect throughout the afternoon. some of those later tonight. let's get into the flash flood watch that stays with us through 7:00 this evening and here is predictor. it moves the rain out and it's -- it is still watching scattered showers and thunderstorms possible later this evening into the overnight hours. forecast mid to upper 70s and

with the drive weather. we are dry saturday and looking for more rain sunday into monday. we will come out here to the dam. this is the river. it will go up to 20 feet. and you will start to see a little bit of flooding just beyond downtown and heading over towards some of the southern areas. here is 24 feet. there is maze island in the middle underwater. first, 2nd and 3rd avenue bridges under water. the water at the base of the first avenue bridge. as this happens for cedar rapids around monday night into tuesday we don't want to forget our friends in vinton. in northeast iowa they been watching their. north of fayette valley all getting out two hours early so students can get home because they are having numerous flooding concerns. highway 93 closed just towards
