eastern iowa after a beautiful afternoon. temperatures are in the 50s in many locations. now we are looking at clouds advance in the far east. these will increase as we go through the late-night hours and into tomorrow morning. i'm expecting to see cloud cover tomorrow. the temperatures as a result of that will be cooler as our highest holding the 60s. we will tell you what you can expect coming up. >> anyone working in the flood zone should be extra careful for the doctors at st. luke's tell cbs 2 news anyone exposed to flood waters should conduct a self check. bacteria and fungus in the water can easily get into your body to open cuts and wounds. doctors say you should wash cuts while working and if you'd do get a deep wound you should get it checked out. as always be aware of self-care when you're helping out. don't do anything that can put you in danger.

saying and red cross shelters. the organization also has 15 emergency response vehicles helping flood impact communities . more than 150 volunteers are helping with disaster response in iowa. in addition to providing flood cleanup kits the red cross has provided more than 9400 meals for those impacted by the floods. we watched as volunteers stepped up to fill sandbags now many getting life back to normal. there are various ways you can help those recover from the flood. the united way is making it easy for you to volunteer. iowa-dot-com. we placed that information on our website cbs2iowa.com. there's another way you can help. the paramount theatre needs to get ready for celtic thunder on sunday. on tears helped remove seeds from the theater last week and now help is needed to put them back in.

temperatures aligning with the season. >> the river is also going down so i guess in a sense that's an important thing. the weekend will be cooler to start but as we get rid of the clouds towards the end of the weekend i think you will like the weight sunday shapes up. our skies are mostly clear as they have been all day. the wind as out of the north at 7 miles per hour is nice and low at 50 degrees. much drier air the past several days. here's high temperatures and thanks to the sunshine it was warmer and eastern iowa. especially in the southeast. a little cooler in the northwestern part of the state. temperatures help in the upper 60s and anyway you slice it

hawkeye state. tonight we are looking at clouds that have moved into the eastern and southeastern parts of iowa. this weather system is an interesting one. it's not following the typical pattern weathers. it is backing into eastern iowa from the east. tomorrow will have clouds and as a result of that the temperatures will be cooler. if you look at lake michigan and around chicago you can see showers and a few of these are a possibility in our forecast from tomorrow night and early on saturday. eastern iowa the force will be weak. we should be widely scattered and on the light side. for high school football games tomorrow night, there may be a brief shower here and there. in most areas some clouds. temperatures around 64 for kickoff. winds blowing it at 5 to 15 miles an hour. tonight the temperatures range from the mid-50s in the northern and central counties to the

oelwein and prairie du chien at 55 degrees. going to the satellite, there's that disturbance. it's off to the southeast of us. the main jet stream is blowing across the northern tier of the united states. this is not in the westerlies and it can go wherever it wants to we get a kicker. as we show you the next four days you can see the upper air low drops south and it moves back to the to get a push and heads into southeastern canada by monday of next week. with this thing spinning around it will spread some of those clouds and that rain back into eastern iowa over the next 24 to 36 hours. you can see the rain totals are very light. bottom line any rain is going to be widely scattered and on the light side.
