little fog as well: take a look at what's happening down south along i-80. 49 degrees around that williamsburg area. tempings on the board looking at 49 in waterloo, cedar rapids, and dubuque. those winds are calm. 4 l to 8 miles an hour this morning. satellite and a redar, we do see a few little clouds down around southeast and very southern parts of iowa, but that's about it. but the rest of us are clear. some of the fog we are running into is around dubuque this morning. now, the planner, upper 50s at 9:00 with plenty of sunshine. mainly sunny at noon 68 and partly sunny this afternoon. that's kind after a brief ka pechlation of what we can plan on today. the big story of the week is more rain and cooler weather. we'll examine both of those items and let you know when to

7-day forecast about ten minutes from now. >> thanks, justin. new this morning, a pedestrian was killed last night in johnson county. this is a live look at traffic there this morning. right now, vehicles are moving with no problem, but last night, a completely different story. the iowa state patrol says the pedestrian was hit by one vehicle and then by a second and third. here are a few pictures from the scene last night. northbound traffic on 218 was blocked for several hours. right noi, authorities don't know what the plan was doing walking along the highway. at this point, no names have been releesd, and it is still under investigation 6789 >> a man d dead after being hit by a train. sheriff says the 44-year-old man was driving a pickup truck towing a flat bed trailer when he drove in front of a freight train sunday. officials say the truck caught fire and the driver was no nounsed dead at the scene. he was the only person in the truck. his name is not being released

federal authorities are hoping to find a second data reporter from a train crash in new jersey. they believe it's under a collapsed section of the train station's roof. ing investigators hope the recorder is functioning. the first one they found wasn't. the recorders are supposed to track the train's speed and braking information. the train's engineer says he has no memory of the crash. after a long week here, things are starting to get back to normal. means back to school. >> stunts? cedar rapids community school district are back in the classroom this morning. for the first time in more than a week, the whole district was shut down lags week while the city was fieg rising flood waters. buses will try to run close to normal on tienl as possible. multiple bridges are back open again this morning after flood waters went down. days ago, every bridge in cedar rapids, except for interat a time 380 and highway 30 were all

the cedar hills community church shelter opened last night for anyone who still needed a place to stay. they closed their doors today at 1 p.m. but will serve one more. >> i think the people that were here in the shelter expressed their gratitude towards the red cross and towards the church. when we come into the community, we in some ways become part of that community. >> the st. paul's methodist church location closed sunday at noon. the red cross has had more than 600 overnight stays. the red cross is opening three resource centers. each scepter will offer flood cleanup kits and healthcare workers who can help with any minor medical needs. the center listen open in vinton today, cedar falls tomorrow and

city market behind me here - moved everything out to prepare for flood waters. waters.officials with newbo - say they're thankful the waters never did reach the market - but say businesses are still taking a hit.it will be closed for several more days as they continue the process of moving everything ?back in.the twenty-four everything back in. the 24 independent retailers inside of the market also have to pass buildings and health inspections. the park et city is doing everything to help them out. sdm we know they are taking a huge financial hit so we went ahead and waived rent for the month of october. basically lost a month of income. we felt that was the least we could do to help them out. >> the market had planned to reopen in mid october. when thu do reopen, they plan to

they are looking back to getting back to work. right now, police are investigating another sexual assault on campus. they say it happened between friday night and saturday morning at a dorm on the east side of campus. investigators say the victim may have known the ataeshg. the department of public safety is reminding -- students it's against university policy to engage in sexual activities without clear consent, and if someone has been drinking, they cannot give consent. right now, iowa city police have a suspect in matches the description of a man seen with a knife on sunday near the university of iowa. the hawk alert was issued this weekend. it warned students and employees there was a 45-year-old white male carrying a knife headed towards john's grocery. according to the university of iowa's emergency information web site, the current campus status is normal, and there are no known emergencies. a former presidential candidate will be campaigning for his biggest rival during the

intersection at roksbury drive northwest and autumn woods drive northwest is closing for about ten days. there still aren't any suspects or charges in a deadly friday morning stabbing in cedar rapids. over the weekend, police identified the victim ass 18-year-old christopher artenberry jr. police found him in the 6700 block of college park court southwest. he died at a hospital about an hour later. police questioned several people, but they are still looking for the people responsible. is now arrested in connection with the death of his foif's 4-year-old daughter last year. his girlfriend, christie bus s, was arrested last week for child endangerment. little abudz buss' two kids, and she didn't try to stop the abuse. good morning to you. now, 6:45 on your monday
