showers to the area but after it moved through we warmed up with temperatures in the 70s. it was on the warm side. this front is going to be sticking around and lead to a few more showers and storms. that will be partially part of it tonight. we will have a low chance for isolated shower's south of highway 30 and most of the activity will occur in the overnight hours. you could see on predictor clouds start to build and we will have multiple showers possible throughout the day on thursday. rain is likely and you do want to hang onto the umbrellas as a warm front lifts north. we will have scattered activity in the afternoon and the main chance for rain will come later on thursday evening as is cold front pushes through the state and high pressure and cool air will be to follow. on friday we will forget about

weather headed our way. with this round of rain and front we have a chance to see strong thunderstorms and severe storms in parts of the state. this yellow area is a low risk outlined by the storm prediction center which is to the west of linn county. it includes a sliver of johnson county and washington county. it's a low risk for strong storms that could produced strong winds. the high risk is going to be in the orange area in the southwestern parts of the state of iowa. possible tornadoes. there will be more strong winds and possibly hail. here on predictor let's timeout the rest of the rain. we have the clouds around and could have some showers in the afternoon hours on thursday. the better chance will be arrived in the evening after five or 6:00 moving in from the

hurricane matthew is >> hurrican matthew right now threatening the entire atlantic coast of florida. evacuations are underweight across the state. >> people along the east coast are being warned that hurrican matthew could be devastating. today's governor florida's -- florida's governor issued evacuations. >> meteorologist rebecca

even if matthew does not make landfall looking at the size of this monster it will still have a significant impact. >> if a big and strong storm. if it does make landfall it would be the first major hurricane to make landfall in florida since wilma in 2005. currently we can see brighter colors nvi starting to reform indicating that it will strengthen. right now it's a category three storm. a major hurricane as it moves to the bahamas because it's over water will strengthen into a category four storm. it's a strong storm and the cone right now is a cone of uncertainty. it could be making landfall or it could say offshore. regardless there will be impacts because of how large it is and because it's going to be going all along the eastern coast of florida. many coastal communities will they impacts of storm surge,
