talk to you about your brilliant album, 24 carat gold. so beautiful. (applause) and what i didn't realize is that a lot of the songs on the album, you had written in the '70s and 80s. why did you choose to finally record them now? >> you know, you make a song, you love t it's your demo. and then you take it in to your production people and whoever and they do a version of it that yo and you don't want to have a bad experience with it cuz you love your song. so you pull it off. and it goes in the vault. so the songs on 24 carat gold are the songs that i wasn't pleased with the concept or the production of and i want, and i knew some day i would be able ti put them all together. these songs were written between 1969. you had already probably been born. and 1987. >> the year i was born. >> really? >> you were born in '87?
12:53 am
>> were you born in '87. >> i was born in 1969, the first one you said.e >> well, that was a good year for music. >> it was a very good year for being born. >> james: yes. well, we are thrilled. we are thrilled that you have this album. stick around, we'll be right back.
