>> reporter: the state auditor and now the dci want to know why $35,000 did not go where it was supposed to go. as a jail administrator wilkinson was responsible for daily operations and that included finding and -- financing and accounting. >> according to a report done by the state auditor daron wilkinson was supposed to collect fees from inmates staying at the jail. a concerned raise of the interim jail administrator showed thousands of dollars missing. along with the room and board fears auditors found discrepancies in multiple different areas. >> our report identifies $26,000 of on deposited collections as well as $7000 of unbilled fees and over $915 of other payouts. >> they cannot track where the money went because most of it

construction services to remove those residential sandbags. pick up from the curb is expected to take about three weeks to complete. the 420-thousand dollar contract covers pick up and disposal of the bags with a request that the sand be reused. the city council has now approved the buyout of a well-know cedar rapids hotel. cooper's mill hotel and restaurant shut down during the flood evacuation and will not re open.today, the council approved a purchase agreement of more than 5-point-2 million all of its contents.the city plans to demolish the building next spring as part of flood protection efforts. while the city picks up sandbags, it is also hoping to pick up struggling businesses. tomorrow morning, leaders will discuss a new effort to provide financial support to area shops that suffered financial losses because of the flood.although most businesses didn't sustain flood damage, many had to shut down for a week or more. at the same time, cedar rapids is asking the state for money to work on collins road.

you can see the cold air not getting into northwestern iowa where the high temperatures in sioux city was 58 degrees this afternoon. this is weather front is located and passing through des moines. behind that through minnesota and northwestern iowa and in the dakotas are into the 30s and 40s and the winds are starting to pick up out of the northwest of 230 miles an hour. that will push this front by daybreak temperatures tomorrow afternoon as the front comes through. we will also see light showers late tonight or tomorrow morning. not expecting too much rain but the temperatures that's something to deal with. with the front getting into eastern iowa we are starting to see clouds and here are some of the showers that will be inherently tonight. overall do not look for too much rain. the system does not have a lot of moisture but it is a vigorous front. you can see the snow that is in

you can see an inch or two before it comes to an end there. the bottom line it does have a punch but it is a fast mover. as a friend moves on the wins by tomorrow morning will start to turn around to the northwest. there are a few of our showers. later in the day the clouds are moving out as a high-pressure and the dry air force to move into the midwest. the key part of the forecast for tomorrow night is how fast this high pressure can move off to the eas skies clear. there will be a good chance that many areas will get down to 32 degrees and frost and freezing temperatures are in the forecast for tomorrow night. we will have more specific numbers tomorrow morning as we get more refined on the timing of that high pressure. the bottom line is we have a big change tomorrow and temperatures will be falling in the afternoon. by evening we should be in the upper 40s to lower 50s depending on where you are in eastern iowa.

i think it will be closer to 32 in cedar rapids. by thursday afternoon we will have sunshine but the temperatures will be called with highs in the -- 55 degrees. the system will not be around long. we will have warm weather for the weekend. our predictor shows the clouds coming through and a few showers as well. they should be gone by the afternoon. then we will clear the skies and bring the cold temperatures tomorrow night. our lows will range from 52 in the northwest to 59 in the southeast. if you showers in the morning and going into tomorrow temperatures in -- for highs will be early in the day. the could be a shot there scattered shower in the morning but gone by the afternoon. we have 32 on thursday and after that here comes the warm up that will get the temperatures back into the 70s
