it's troubling. congressman blum actually co-sponsored a bill that could make it legal for a woman to be fired just for being pregnant. and blum tried to defund planned parenthood, even though women depend on it for critical care, i was diagnosed with breast cancer, and i know it was early detection that made a difference. it's not a political issue. it's about caring about all of our people here in this country.

discriminate. mark was a doctor for 20 years, and he worked very, very hard, and i always tell him, he's still a doctor, he's just not a practicing doctor. >> reporter: tina and others are speaking up about their experiences in the hopes of finding a cure. >> i'm not big on public speaking, either, but i wanted to do it. i wanted to do it for my honey and bring awareness. >> people are more willing to talk about their journey, which is one of the main reasons why we have the walk to end alzheimer's awareness so people feel come fortable talk abouting about what they've been through. >> i think it's important for everyone to become aware of alzheimer's and that it is the sixth leading cause of death, and that we need to do more, and there needs to be more funding. >> reporter: the alzheimer's association of east-central iowa has raised $183,000, which is just $2,000 short of their goal. to learn how you can donate

cbs2iowa.com. connor morgan, cbs 2 news. it was definitely a fall day outside. a little cooler and overcast. a perfect day to be wearing a sweater while doing that or sitting at home with a hot pumpkin spice. >> the clouds were pretty thick across eastern iowa. that will keep the temperatures from dropping too much. right now it's still a mild 7 1. mostly cloudy in cedar rapids with the areawide upper 60s. monticello at 70, dubuque at 68. the winds gusty out of the south-southwest from 8 to 17 miles per hour here in cedar rapids. satellite and radar, we are tracking some clouds, some showers, and a few thunderstorms will be developing as well as we do go through the evening hours tonight. so showers and storms expected tonight. mainly it looks like as of right now it will be cloudy and a mild day tomorrow, then we're really going to warm up those temperatures.

summer as we get into monday. we've got a cold front that is moving through iowa right now. as we go through the evening hours you do see some showers and storms mainly in far southeastern iowa. those will blow through the area by tomorrow morning, then the cold front will lift as a warm front as we get into sunday. that will increase the winds out of the south. that will feed in quite a bit more moisture as winds will be warming into the low 80s by monday afternoon before that cold front monday night. here is predictor. as we go through the evening we are starting to see some scattered showers, probably around 9:00 but mainly east of cedar rapids. then you can see as we go through the overnight hours, the showers do go through into illinois. we will start out mostly cloudy and the clouds will stick around most of the day tomorrow and especially into monday. as far as how much rain expected, maybe a quarter of an

some of the stronger areas to the far southeast. not expecting a lot with these showers. as far as temperatures go, tonight we're going to be mild, in the low sick. look at the upper 70s, even 80s over into parts of nebraska and into kansas, and those 80s will be getting into our area, it looks like, coming up on monday. for tonight, scattered showers. we'll see some patchy fog along and north of interstate 80. upper 50s to the north, low sick from cedar rapi o and then for tomorrow, mostly cloudy. could see an asm shower in the morgue, some fog. it will be another mild day looking at readings in the low to mid 70 area wide. your extended forecast, 82 on sunday. if we do get 80 degrees it will be the first time in 21 days that we've hit the mark. we do have a dry cold front that does come through late monday night so the
