the chief reached out to convicted felons to be a part of an advisory team to help him review department policies, especially those involving the use of force. the group not have any authority. this comes after cases with white officers and black residents. this is a body camera video. you can see the police officer yanking on the dreadlocks of the suspect. it was decided that this officer will not face normal charges. he was punished internally. the suspect in the case wanted the officer fired for his actions. keller is scheduled to stand trial next week in the original case. he faces multiple charges and is being charged with nearly running over the officer. the police department and

party for their former principal - doctor ralph plagman. it will be held from one to four on sunday in the school's cafeteria.plagman resigned from his post- after a student-teacher sex scandal involving former substitute teacher mary beth haglin. reports surfaced that plagman knew about the relationship ?before she was fired.plagman says he did his best to investigate the situation - and did nothing illegal or unprofessional. authorities now believe a body found in bree-mer county near of a woman missing since july. july.authorities say an investigation of the scene strongly suggests the remains are of 76-year-old cloris mehmen.a farmer found the body about a half a mile from the woman's home.an autopsy is now scheduled to confirm her identification.mehmen suffers from dementia, and had wandered away before but had been quickly found. authorities now say a murder- suicide is to blame for the

here's a look at some of the other things going on around eastern iowa on this morning... international automotive components is laying off 440- employees at its iowa city plant.that's nearly 85-percent of the plant's current workforce.i-a-c tells cbs 2news - the cuts are coming because fiat-chrysler is dis- continuing the dodge dart - and other projects are moving to other plants. right now in cedar rapids - a few non-profits have taken over the geonetric building taken over the geometric building. the workers are voluntary their time to build new websites for the nonprofit organizations built in linn county . six organizations will get new websites. it is now 6:45 on this friday morning. if you are here, it is 32
