spokes woman says officers do have the proper training. >> they go through the iowa law enforcement academy like any other peace officer in the state. >> the iowa d.o.t. says they are reviewing the ruling and will review all options before moving forward. right now, the government is trying to figure out who is behind a series of hack that is knocked out some websites today. popular ones. multiple attacks hit well-known sites like twitter netflix it knocked out the popular site is called a denial of service attack. it causes a wave of traffic tooverwhelm the servers disrupting normal operations. the sites are back up and running and so far no one has claimed responsibility. the department of homeland security is investigating. in the race for the white house there are 18 days until election day and both candidates are heading to key battleground states to

donald trump ep held a rail -- held a rally in north carolina. his national police cal director resigned -- political director resigned. his leaving is a rare move and comes after the release of the 2005 billy bush tape which shows trump making vulgar comments about women. on the democratic side of the campaign trail, hillary clinton has released a new campaign ad featuring the muslim american whose son and last presidential debate before election day- clinton said trump's attacks toward the family were causing hostility.the next stop on clinton's campaign trail is in ohio.she will be at a rally and plans to meet with leaders of "black lives matter." voters aren't the only ones affected by the race for the white house. house.the controversial campaigns are creating challenges for corridor educators.comments from republican nominee donald trump about women and

teachers in difficult positions when approaching this year's election.some teachers say this unprecedente d presidential race is putting them in a bind. "it's risky. it's risky to teach civic literacy because no matter how neutral or benign you may present it, i'll get called out one day from a parent saying you're being too liberal. and on the very same day, another parent saying you're being too conservative." despite the risks - area in shy away from teaching about the 20-16 election - as they aim to educate students who will eventually run this country. we are fast approaching the end of our year- which usually means shopping for upcoming holidays.federal agencies have been shopping too- as the end of their fiscal year has already come to a close.a recent trend shows federal agencies spending lots of money in the last few days or weeks of their year.

question of the day- what should a government department do with money it doesn't spend? to answer, click on the question of the day link on our website, cbs 2 iowa dot com. now ten at ten continues with a look at tonight's other stories across the corridor. october is domestic violence awareness month- month-and one non-profit is working to raise awareness.in cedar rapids- waypoint has now helped more than 20-thousand victims escape from abuse. nearly 20-people fall vic in the u-s.that's according to the national coalition against t domestic violence.one waypoint worker says getting domestic violence. one way point workers says getting the word out can -- worker says getting the word out can can help. >> when we put the word out they reflect on hey, have i seen this? have i seen signs and was not sure? >> the nonprofit says isolation is a big red flag for abuse.

waypoint's hop hotline on cbs2iowa.com. gone ar governor branstad is asking for federal assistance to help multiple county recover from the flood of 2016. multiple counties are on the list. last month's heavy rain poured across eastern iowa causing flooding. if the request is approved by president obama, the presidential disaster declaration would put aside funint from the fema pb look assistance program. in iowa city the d store signs more visible to pedestrian. and add creativity. there's a new opportunity for the businesses called cosign from the american sign museum. it would be a collaboration between merchants and local artists and fabricators. iowa city officials says it will begin in the spring. the hope is to have the new signs up by the summer. 6 nonprofit organizations now have brand new websites.

monday on cbs 2 this morning - new surveys show this year's election - is really stressing people out.how to ease your anxiety levels in the last weeks of the election -that's monday if your weekend plans don't call for outdoor time put it on the cal ender.

>> especially when you know we are knock-- calendar. >> especially when you know what the weather is. >> temperatures will be well above normal and there are few clouds passing through parts of the area but they are starting to clear out of the western counties. and that is bodes well for tomorrow. the temperature currently at 45 degrees in cedar rapid. wind out of the south southeast at 3 miles per hour. and on the radar here, there's a fast moving sprirchgel that zipped around and there's a few light showers out there tonight that are trying to develop along a warm front but these are very few and far between and rain actually is not getting down to the ground so maybe a few spits of rain in our southern and eastern counties over the next couple hours and then after that we will expect clearing to come in here. as far as the current temperatures go, they are looking this way. and it's 45 degrees and charles city has 46.

city, at 48. waterloo one of the warmer spots with temperatures of 49. earlier on today, you were in the 20s and a lot of frost around eastern iowa. here the band of cloud and this is caused by warm air that is now beginning to surge across eastern iowa hitting the cool air that's in place the past couple days generating the clouds. but as warmer air is better established it's pushing the cloud cover off to the east and by tomorrow morning, we will have clear skies and we will get the day off to start and if you are going to iowa city for the game with eye yeah against the badgers the kick off temperature should be about 55 degrees. the skies will be sunny and winds will be light out of the south. and if you will do tailgating and there around 8 in the morning the temperatures will be around 42 so things warm up as we go through the morning and by the time you leave in the afternoon the temperatures will be up in the mid-60s and you can take the coat off. here's predictor and it shows the clouds moving very quickly off to the east.

moving into wisconsin by 6 a.m. we have cleared out the skies and going through the day tomorrow more sunshine and no rain anywhere over the upper midwest and sun will be around through sunday. look for really mild temperatures for this time of year. and lots of sunshine to go along with it. our next weather maker arrives sometime late tuesday and it looks like that will be in here through wednesday as well. and we have no rain in the forecast at all here through 8 on however, later tuesday night and wednesday, watch what happens here. our models go crazy with the rainfall and there could be places in eastern iowa that see an inch and a half to 2 1/2 inches of rain but the exacttrack dictates what ho gets watt. it locks like a soggy system for us. mid-30s north to 40 in the south and about 38 in waterloo and 39 in iowa city and 36

it's troubling. congressman blum actually co-sponsored a bill that could make it legal for a woman to be fired just for being pregnant. and blum tried to defund planned parenthood, even though women depend on it for critical care, like cancer screenings. i was diagnosed with breast cancer, that made a difference. it's not a political issue. it's about caring about all of our people here in this country.
