the day link and cast your vote. >> we continue to track a hate crime investigation going on in waterloo. the apparent target a candidate vying for a spot on the black hawk county board of supervisors. kevin barry joins us to explain how this is changing the course of the campaign. >> reporter: it started first thing this morning when chris schwartz woke up and saw his lawn signs had been vandalized outside of his home overnight. he is the only democratic in the only gay person running for black hawk county supervisor in waterloo. most of the damage was spray- painted signs. you can see the video where they are damaged. there is one side with an anti- gay slur and we are blurring it out. and also a bible verse painted on his door. that verse eight gay people people love our record of service. we've served this community for a nubmer of

to help establish cedar valley . pridefest.chris says in the past few weeks -- he's been getting attacked online by a facebook group called cedar valley patriots for christ. they've been speaking out against his support for gay rights issues -- and publicly backing his three republican opponents.today -- the leader of that group told the waterloo cedar falls courier that he thinks schwartz facebook post -- the groups says they'll help pay for the damage -- but that it seems like a move out of the leftist playbook.schwartz's opponents are speaking out against the valdalism. it's compeltely wrong and i hope those that did it are found and prosecuted.it's a shame that a few ignorant people can drive a wedge betweent he people and what we stand for.

there's nothing to be concerned about. the high pressure brought us a cool day but behind that the winds have turned back from the south in this warm front will come through eastern iowa during the morning tomorrow and move into wisconsin and minnesota tomorrow afternoon. that means brisk southwest winds . it will take the temperatures and search them up into the 70s. our latest model temperatures of 69 in the core in dubuque. everyone else showing in the 70s and maybe submit 70s and parts of eastern iowa. the warm weather should continue into saturday but there will be a little front in the afternoon and i will keep the northern counties cooler. from highway 20 to the south east still a lot of places into the 70s. tomorrow night we kick off playoffs at high school
