traffic accidents are not that severe. in uptown marion, where this leads to, it goes to an area that is incredibly narrow with small streets. the idea is to let cars come down this way and get off at that incredibly dizzy part of the city road and go up this way onto sixth street. what that does is it takes them from the main thorough fair and opens up some of that driving. it also puts more people on that road which is a secondary road and generally has not been so busy because everybody there. now more cars are coming through and they say that all the traffic comes through more efficiently than if you were just to put a big stoplight in the middle or even more than a stop sign. we will track this as it continues to move on. some of the businesses have gone through a tip -- a tough six or seven months with the construction. now the city of marion says it is time to come to a place and frequent those places as well.

enemy fire he treated the wounded without regard for his own life.he also led his commander to identify enemy positions for a counter strike. hendrickson doesn't talk much about his service,his wife rachel found the metals while sorting through a box.it took a conversation with her father who was also a veteran to understand their significance. didn't think about it when you did it you know it was something you were trained to do and you just everything kicks in and you do it. theres an opportunity then for a dialog about a important part of his life and even though he was very young as a medic in vietnam his service was significant wheather people could see it or not. hendrickson decided he wanted the corrected certificates to pass on to his children and grandchildren to help understand the history of the war and what happended.he worked for 2 years to get the corrections before reaching out to ernst for help.covering the corridor joe huisinga cbs 2 news still to come at six -

the weather first chief meteorologist terry swails has been providing us fantastic weather lately. today was dry. i had to go on assignment today and i enjoyed my drive in the country.>> i will pay for this at some juncture, but 67 was the high today in the normal is 55. so, we are way above where we the front is coming through tonight and that will change our temperatures to the colder in the next 24 hours. still, nothing too terribly bad. as we look at radar, there is no rain anywhere in eastern iowa or the upper midwest despite a front -- the fact that front is coming through. it is a dry front with no clouds or precipitation associated with it. as you go to the satellite, you can see the absence of weather across the midwest. there is high-pressure locked

of sunshine right through the upcoming weekend. so, for the morning commute tomorrow in the corridor, it will be a good one. temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s with dry conditions. with the sunshine, we will have breezy conditions as the winds winks and from the north at 10- 15 miles per hour. we expect the front later tonight and the no clouds associated with that. behind that, north wind that will be breezy at times up to 20 miles per hour. that will knockabout 15 degrees off the temperatures. otherwise, off of a cool -- after a cool start on saturday and sunday, we will warm up and it should be close to 60 degrees by days end. tomorrow is veterans day in eastern iowa and we salute all the veterans. in iowa city, there will be a armistice day celebration of the old capital at about 10:45 in the morning. the celebration is actually for

80, there are still police on the scene of an accident. it is slowing down the traffic getting off of i-380 southbound and leading to slower traffic. there are indications it is picking up at the exit. however, down closer to springville on 151, we getting word that one lane southbound is blocked anth blocked. traffic is going around it right now. now onto some good news for tomorrow morning. the highway near the iowa river, 965, will be reopened for the morning cute -- commute tomorrow. that project has been ongoing for several months and it will open in time for the commute tomorrow. however, robins road and hiawatha is closed and the
