thanksgiving came a day early for hundreds in the corridor. thanks to a lot of work and generous hearts. cbs 2 news reporter joe huisinga tells us how this could be the only meal for some of them. every day the salvation army provides food for community members in need but when the holidays come that need is about more than hunger its a time to be with people that care the turkey the treats and everything in between. oh i love pumpkin pie thats my favorite dessert the salvation army serves hundreds of thanksgiving dinners a day early

places to go for thanksgiving and it's just wonderful to come in here and be a part of it. 13a meal and where all are welcome. theres so many people out in the world that are going hungry and they don't have no food and this helps them to have something to eat on thanksgiving 9a close knit community. obviously there are a lot of people here who feel like these are their family.4 i like to see everybody here i got a lot of friends to be with everybody on thanksgiving 6a family that enjoys the little things grateful and thankful and they love the food. i think it's wonderful that salvation army takes the time and cooks this wonderful food and all the wonderful people that waits on us and takes time out from their families. 12simple acts of service and an early thanksgiving for those who may not have as much to celebrate

>> there is actually an accident that occurred along with i-# 0. and that is down near core valueville. actually now slow traffic down to an average speed of about 7 miles an hour here. according to ways. and it is saying that -- and that is westbound. and it is actually saying there could be a delay up to 12-13 minutes for one and half miles. all of the way to the i-80 interchange to about exit 0 into core valueville. you can -- corralville. you can kind of see it. this is looking at i-80 at i believe it's highway 965 near corral ridge. people are starting to slow down. that could cause some delays headed headed that way or towards iowa city at all. otherwise we are all green along highway 30 and i-# 0 toward cedar rapids and the rest of the eastern iowa for
