or not charge the folks and put them in the legal system. the other side of this is the district attorney is an elected position. he's on the ballot. and the last time he was reelected was 2014. voter accountability is another aspect but he does not think that overrules the fact that they there could be some conflict of interest. >> they tend to be elected by the voters, and they are responsible to the voters. and they have to be concerned, but the reality is they have to work with the local police.

a medical condition for the accident but believe the driver didn't mean to plow through the glass doors.three people are dead and two others are hurt - including the driver.no names have been released.the store remains closed tonight. developing tonight - cbs 2 news has learned residents of gatlinburg, tennessee will be allowed to return to their homes tomorrow morning.the entire city was evacuated monday night when a massive fire surrounded the community. right now - authorities are trying to figure out what sparked that fire and are not saying whether it appears to be intentional.so far 11- people have died - 80-others

and we have a lot of clouds in the skies. looks to me like they are few and far between. and clouds are prevalent around eastern iowa and they'll stick with us. and tomorrow's temperatures will be just about like today's and that means a seasonal december day for us. the corridor commute looking this way. cloudy skies, temperatures in the range of 33 to 3de per hour. and now that we're in the month of december. this is what you can expect as far as the averages go. we begin the month at 38 degrees for a high. and by the time we get to december 31st we're down to 28. and a fair amount of snow. typically, 8 inches. and the most in the month of december in cedar rapids.

we have a light snow event saturday night and sunday. we'll get to that in just a moment. and the middle of the week. that's a low confidence forecast and we'll show you why. and eventually, once that goes by no matter what happens. a big shot of cold air keeps highs in the teens. the disturbance saturday night and sunday is not going to be a snow accumulations probably around an inch, maybe 2 inches in a few spots and i don't expect to see any major problems. now we take you to our satellite. and this is the disturbance just coming in to the pacific northwest that will impact the area with the snows saturday night and sunday and another piece of energy has the

this is the snowfall forecast. and it's not very impressive. an inch or less around much of eastern iowa. we've got another good model that i like to use. and it takes the low pressure and wraps it up and sends it to chicago. and dumps 10 inches of know in eastern iowa. part of a the problem now is that the data is way out in the pacific. person united states, we'll see a lot of discrepancy on forecasts here. i'm not buying either of these solutions. and in the next 24 hours, we'll have a pretty good idea of where this is all going. maybe a few scattered flurries in the north. 6:00 in the morning, more clouds and then we close out the day with overcast conditions and the temperatures

to 33 degrees with westerly winds and lots of clouds, and same story in the south. temperatures will be a couple of degrees warmer. 35 in iowa city. tomorrow an overcast day and temperatures about like they were. further to the south. a couple of shots reach about 30. here's the extended forecast. we have the snow saturday night and sunday, an inch or two a possibility. and then a break for a of days. and >> if we get the next system, it would be wednesday of next week. and then the cold comes in
