in the news this saturday morning, questionnaires filled out by jurors before the bart trial are released and they are giving us insight of the people that convicted johannes mehserle in oscar grant's death. and man whose pit bulls who killed his grandson says there were warning signs that the dogs were dangerous. >> i'm jeff martinez foggy start to your saturday. cool temperatures only in the 50s but it will be warming up in a few locations. accu-weather forecast coming up. >> i'm teresa garcia. in oakland police are investigating a shooting that left two people wounded one in critical condition. one of the victims is a child, but we don't know the extent of that child's injuries. police say it happened at around 8:30 last night at 83rd avenue and olive streets. no one was arrested. investigators have not released a description of the suspect. there is new information in

the bart shooting trial, pages and pages of details about the people who convicted johannes mehserle of involuntary manslaughter in oscar grant's death. yesterday the judge released the extensive questionnaire filled out by jurors in the bart shooting trial during the selection process. lilian kim poured over the documents and shares some insight into them. >> the men and women that determined the fate of johannes mehserle came from all walks of life spanned all age groups and gave a wide range of answers especially when it came to law enforcement. in this questionnaire prospective jurors were asked 121 questions including do police officers lie? eight responded yes. when asked have you ever seen a police officer act inappropriately. three jurors said yes. these are trial consultants based in san francisco. >> it was a good questionnaire and covered all the important

scenarios, attitudes about crime attitudes about police. attitudes about the case. experiences with the police. >> and from what they can tell from reading the jury's answers there seems to be no strong biases one way or the other which is what attorneys look for. >> you have a couple relatives who are police officers but even taking one who does you know even that juror expressed mixed opinions about police officers. >> the trial over the 2009 shooting death of oscar grant lasted weeks. deliberations lasted six and a half hours. four had on previous occasions. that experience is probably why the jury reached a verdict as quickly as they did. >> they were going to make a decision. they were going to be led through the process by the more experienced jurors. they were going to get to

decision and there quickly and that is exactly what happened. >> of the 12 jurors only two had heard about the case before the trial. every question is posted at www.abc7.com. oscar grant's mother will sit down today for first one on one interview since the verdict. wanda johnson will talk with radio station in berkeley at 8:20 this morning. they are encouraging to listeners to call in with questions and comments. >> after a deadly pit bull incident the city is looking into restrictions on owners. man whose dogs killed his grandson. he news his dogs had a dangerous streak. >> it was a terrible accident. it was a terrible accident. i will take the blames blame for

sentiments are at a high. they want to discuss what kind of legislation to tie to prevent another attack breeds can't be banned but they will look at the example in san francisco. >> i think the ordinance is a gad one. >> in san francisco pit bulls must be sterilized. they passed the law in response to the death of 12-year-old boy who was mauled by his family pit bulls. >> it seems to be effective in san francisco for n terms of being able to cut down on some of the excess number pit bulls that are being bred. >> steven hyashi didn't when authorities decided to euthanize his dog. he hopes others can learn from his mistakes. >> i love children. i never want anything to happen to children especially... he was only two years old. >> he wasn't at home at the time

of his attack but he has been booked for child endangerment. >> the body of a north bay soldier killed in afghanistan this morning is back home. family invited us to take these pictures. 21-year-old soldier died when his vehicle hit an ide. he has spent 15 months before being deployed to afghanistan late last year. family grew up in berryessa. he joined the army soon after graduating from napa high. funeral services will be held at napa christian center. >> a popular east bay park is reopened after being closed by a bomb scare. for the second time this week police responded to reports of a suspicious device in concord. the bomb squad was called in.

police canine units searched the park but didn't find anything else suspicious. now, that first pipe bomb was found and dealt made on wednesday. a kid's soccer tournament is still scheduled for today. >> san jose lake is off-limits because of an algae bloom. the blue green algae usually occurs in late summer and will once dissipate after weather conditions change. it will be closed had after it is shows ed disappeared. >> they are offering a $2,000 regard to catch the person that is killing trees. since may, had you trees have been vandalized. many of the trees were cut with a hand saw. others were uprooted or stripped of their bark at the base. latest incident took place on wednesday when 14 young elms and a sycamore were sawed in two.

move off further to the east. big story has been what was once a tropical storm bonnie now just a depression. weakening rapidly here moves over miami and now continues to march towards the gulf here. all eyes are continuing to watch just how much impact it will hf with the heavy surf and lots of rain expected with this driving waves on shore. as we head in tomorrow afternoon and evening, it will make landfall winds are only 30 miles an hour it's definitely dumping a lot of rain and some fairly strong winds with that. accu-weather forecast takes us through this afternoon slight chance for thunderstorms if you are heading up into the mountains. better chance by say sunday evening as we're getting a little subtropical moisture moving in from the south. area of low pressure right here 0 the coast keeping the marine layer right along our area coastal areas.

we'll see low clouds today and temperatures only in the 50s right around the morning hours. noontime about 55 to 64 degrees. that will be the high temperature in san francisco 64. inland looking great. temperatures pushing 90 degrees. as you head further inland sunshine will be out and quite mild with temperatures in the upper 70s. 80 in san jose. 75 in palo alto and cool along the coast. heading out to ocean beach only about 60 degrees, same thing for daly city. stinson beach about 60 degrees as well. as for the east bay, oakland 69 for you. 77 in fremont. here is where it gets hot with 90s out through pittsburg and brentwood. monterey bay, 66 degrees for you. hollister about 80 degrees and seven-day forecast, again thunderstorms in the sierra by say tomorrow afternoon and then cool things off.

>> they received a copy of the cashier's check but not real thing. the bank cannot cash a copy. they said nancy still owed $8100 on her loan. her was long gone. >> this vehicle that i in longer owned, don't have the title to it that i would have to keep paying on this vehicle. >> the bank started billing her for loans and late fees. she sent the original check plus a copy. wells fargo said no it didn't have the original. >> nobody would admit that they lost it or shredded it. how can we be sure you put it in the envelope? >> they agreed to issue another check slomgs nobody would cash the first one. no one could guarantee that because it was a lot of cashier's check. so wells fargo kept demanding payments.

>> they were going to press charges against me. to the point i couldn't even look at a dodge truck on the street. >> communications with the bank were going nowhere until she called me. >> so i told them i've contacted 7 on your side. boy did they change in a hurry. >> after that they agreed in writing not to cash that first check if it's ever found. truck's new owner wrote a new check and the loan was paid in full. wells fargo said in situations like this what often gets sent for a deposit is non-negotiable item. we appreciate 7 on your side calling this to our attention. >> thank goodness for 7 on your side. now i can look at a dodge truck and i'm fine. >> it's still not clear exactly what happened to that original check. however nancy says wells fargo it may have been shredded and copy put through for deposit. bottom line mailing a cashier's
