already. temperatures are breaking into the 60s. in fact if you are heading out the door, here is what you can expect. 65 in antioch. 61 in concord. we've got 60s in mountain view and los gatos but still pretty cool in san francisco where the marine layer has deepened a bit. now it's about 2,000 feet. it's 57 degrees in san jose. you'll find fog in santa rosa as well as in watsonville, 54 for pretty much everyone in in monterey right now. morning low clouds will clear back to the coast by lunch time. then we'll see a lot of afternoon sunshine except by the beach. everyone inland still cool by the beach and then unfortunately we're going to be cooler than average all weekend. that is a relief for some and some people are ready for the warmup. here is a look at the water vapor image. upper levels of the atmosphere, counterclockwise flow with an

area of low pressure, that helps to increase the onshore flow but probably going to stay with us all week. closer look at the forecast model shows the fog pulling back to the coast. it's still going to stick around the golden gate and i just updated the models. the fog is going to stick around with a deeper marine layer. parts of the north bay and peninsula and coast, that is where you'll continue to see clouds. in san jose, pretty mild and comfortable, 79 your high expected. 75 in sunnyvale. look for 70s, mid-70s through redwood city, palo alto and mountain view. then pacifica, cool at 58. notice in san francisco, we've got a little bit of a spread, right along the beach, 59 and warmer in the downtown areas, 62 degrees. still be cool if you are heading to the giants game later on

tonight. some upper 70s through petaluma and mid-70s around napa. 63 in richmond and we'll see some 70s through union city and castro valley. we're seeing some sunshine, a lot of it in the interior valleys. that where we see low to mid-80s and 88 one of the warmer spots in antioch. mid-80s in watsonville. i've been talking about the temperatures cooler than average. here is what i mean. we're running about 3-10 degrees cooler than average. for the rest of the week we can expect minor changes, but still overall a little cooler than average until possibly next weekend. still on the cool side. >> thanks a lot. >> efforts to permanently close

animal cruelty charges. >> any time you are dealing with animal cruelty, it's a pretty sensitive subject in almost any area. >> police say they found 60 live roosters along with two dead ones where it took place. >> firefighters in southern california say they expect full containment by tomorrow on a major wildfire that broke out last thursday. crews continued to fight the crown fire on the ground and from the air in the community of palmdale. right now the wildfire is more than 80% contained. aural evacuation orders have been lifted and buildings are no longer threatened. the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears someone using a hammer to remove a tire room may have produced a spark that started the fire on a very windy day. >> today we find out san jose's

unprecedented layoff of firefighters may be reversed. they are detailing new proposal in an effort to get 49 firefighters reinstated. the layoffs begin last week as part of citywide cut backs to close $118 million budget shortfall. city leaders say they want skeajsz and 10% savings from all the unions today. a nonprofit group is hoping to do what the city of vallejo cannot do, serve three of the city's four police dogs. they are holding a fund-raiser this weekend. >> we have self-service pet washes in just about every one of our stores, this weekend for a purchase of a token will be donated to the police canine fund. >> some of the money will go to

buy bulletproof vests and oxygen masks for police dogs. they are hoping to raise $100,000. more than a dozen barrier police departments have applied for some of those funds. >> 80 oakland police officers that lost their jobs are getting help from the community. they are donating special frozen dinner boxes for each of the lady off officers families. they were laid off earlier this month as a way to help them balance to the city's deficit. >> oakland homeowners will be asked not once but twice to raise their homeowner taxes. they want increase teacher pay lyanne melendez has more. >> oakland teachers are the lowest paid in alameda county. average salary is $54,000. the school district teachers deserve a raise but budget cuts have taken away that

possibility. so both the districts and teachers are now turning to homeowners. >> the parcel tax would sunshine after ten years. it's $195 per parcel tax with an exemption for low income residents. >> that is roughly 53 cents day. it would fund a 6% salary increase for teachers. >> we have a high number of teachers leaving because of low salaries. in order to keep the good teachers that we have here, we need to invest by supporting this measure. >> on monday, the city council voted to put a $360 parcel tax on the ballot to rehire and police officers. it's called the dollar a day parcel tax. putting two parcel taxes on the november ballot is ununfor the city. >> there was communication between the city hall and city council and board of education

lift that contract and put things back as they were before the 18th. lawyers for a.c. transit were there, too, arguing their side but the judge said she'll decide monday at the earliest. drivers say they'll continue to work. >> we said we were going to work. we're working, we're working. my members, are we working? >> a key legal question, whether either side broken the rules when the contract expired with no deal both sides agreed for arbitration with certain rules in the meantime,. >> the rules are that we don't strike and that the district don't impose. we have not gone on strike and we are not on sickout but the district has imposed. >> we are saying in the courtroom is how does the district get away saying that the union can't strike but at the same time it can impose.

reporting fog at 52 degrees. you can expect another cool morning with the low clouds and afternoon sun mainly by lunchtime. warm inland, cool along the coast. looks like yesterday and we're still going to be cooler than average all week. take a look at what is going on with water vapor satellite imagery. this is an area of low pressure that is helping drive the flow and bringing the cooler temperatures and low clouds. here is how it breaks out throughout the day. by lunchtime, you notice everything gets back but back to the coast is still hanging on in parts of the san mateo coast and parts of the north bay. even stinson beach might not see sun. then with the deeper marine layer and then sunshine for everybody else with 60s and 70s around the bay. check out temperatures in san jose, 79 your high for today.
