to afghanistan for his funeral. >> he gave his life. the best years of his life. to bring medical care to afghan people. and he will be buried in the christian cemetery right there in kabul. >> reporter: the bullet riddled bodied of dr. little and nine other members of the medical team were flown to kabul sunday. the taliban claimed responsibility for the massacre, accusing the medical workers of spying and trying to convert muslims to christianity. just government officials strongly deny the charges. >> these were selfless volunteers who devoted themselves to providing free and much-needed health care to afghans in the most remote and difficult parts of your country. >> reporter: abc news. >> carolyn: this killings have created fear and concern among local medical aid workers. if the talibans planning to

execute anyone traveling with a faith-based organization it could mean much less care for the afghan people. >> i'm not religious but i went with a faith-based organization because nobody else was there. >> reporter: he is a local pediatrician who taught daughters in kabul in 2007. he was with a christian aid group but states that didn't they were there to preach. >> regardless of where the money came from or who we are, the medical care we're delivering is no strings attached. >> reporter: he acknowledges it's a nongovernmental organizations and religious grounds have stepped up to provide various types of aid to a country lacking governmental resources, especially in the north, because the taliban claimed they were preparing christianity they were killed. >> not only am i sad about the ten aid workers who were killed but i'm thinking of hundreds of local afghanistans who were on waiting lists for surgery who

sonny campbell. a nonprofit called citizens for the lost society is planning a week of events to draw attention the case and others like it. today the group opened its new headquarters in san leandro. during the investigation, his pottser father told police he left the boy near a back door of this shoe store where his fiancee worked. >> we know he is out there somewhere and he needs to be found. and there's two people out there that know what happened to him and it's time they told the truth. >> alan: the group will hold a village jill really on tuesday, and plans to meet with the district attorney to discuss possible develops in the case. his foster parents were arrest, but prosecutors never filed murder charges citing a lack of evidence. crews are planning to begin drilling tomorrow morning on the fourth bore of the caldecott tunnel. crews will be drilling on both

ends of the tunnel along highway 24. the $400 million project is expected to be completed in three to four years. >> carolyn: b.p. says pressure tests on the blown oil well show the cement seal is solidly in place. now crews are focused on driving the relief well, but there's stale lot of work to be done. >> reporter: report with the permanent cap in place and nomer daily images of leaking oil, the obama administration hopes to shot i hasn't lost sight of the enormous cleanup and recovery effort that remains. >> it is a catastrophe, a catastrophe for the people of the gulf and requires our attention. >> reporter: what more needs to be done and more cleanup. the government says 25% of the nearly five million barrels of spilled oil remains. independent scientists say there's as much 350s% left. then they're this issue of helping the seafood industry. many people think gulf seafood is unsafe.

we caught up with shoppers a thousand miles from louisiana in washington, dc last week. most said they wouldn't buy seafood if they were certain it came from the gulf. >> i just wouldn't trust it, honestly. >> seafood isn't the gulf's only industry needing to recover. president obama's moratorium on deep-water drilling has put thousands of people out of work. minority leader john boehner said there's enough safety practices in place to lift the ban. >> there clearly was live -- mistake made with regard to this well but we're risking 100,000 jobs in the gulf because of the moratorium. >> and the vital tourism history has taken a hit. president obama plans to do his part, taking his family to florida next week for a vacation. abc news, the white house. >> carolyn: a new field poll reveals marijuana is already

and president obama enjoyed his dream birthday weekend. he played basketball with nba all-stars including lebron james and others. they entertained troops. i guess we don't get to actually see them playing basketball, just arriving there to do so. >> alan: we have video of that. we'll show that to you tonight. a close call at an airport in alaska. an eagle got sucked into the engine of an alaska airlines jet as the aircraft was taking off. causing the flying to be aborted. no one was hurt. in vermont, a culp crash-landed their small plane the pilot says he lost power just after takeoff. he tried to glide the plane in for a landing but the landing gary collapsed and the plane flipped on its roof.

rights and we hope the judge decides to allow his decision to go forward. >> carolyn: opponents of same-sex marriage want the stay to remain in place until the appeals process is complete. this case will likely go the supreme court. it's a process that is expected to take several years. >> alan: san francisco is ready to start expanding the number of bicycle lanes in the city. just three days after a court gave its blessing. the work is expected to begin tomorrow on a plan to double the number of bike lanes in the city. these will be the first new lanes in four years. now, there had been a moratorium on any new lanes until an environmental review could be completed. >> carolyn: there's been some stormy weather in lake tahoe. >> alan: leigh is their tell us about that. >> leigh: haas hour we had all kinds of lightning strikes. things have been dying down but you can see the squall line

it will be very slow to burn off tomorrow morning. it will be a cool day tomorrow. we will look four some partial clearing inland. the good news is we're going to get into a weather pattern change friday, saturday, and sunday. overnight tonight, low clouds and fog move inland. overnight temperatures, 52 for santa rosa. san francisco, 52. 53 for livermore. the culprit today has been this diving area of low pressure. it just started to move inland and that's helped to increase the low clouds and fog and mist and drizzle there. tomorrow and monday and tuesday we have this secondary system. this will keep us cool, and then after that moves through, it looks like higher pressure with move in. tomorrow morning, low clouds and fog will slowly start to burn back to the coast around nooktime or -- noontime. here's a look at some selected cities for you.
