sound ♪ >> reporter: jessica morales was remembered as someone who was easy to love. her mother was the first to speak at her funeral mass. he said she wrote 20 versions of her speech. >> where do i start? how do i begin to say farewell. i can't believe you're gone. how am i going to say goodbye to my heart and soul. >> reporter: her mother wanted everyone to know that jessica was an incredible daughter. >> from the time you were born, i felt this indescribable feeling of love. i remember bringing you home from the hospital the first time. you were sitting next to junior, and it felt like our family was complete. >> reporter: jessica was killed in the explosion and fire in san bruno. she was at her boyfriend's house

when the fire happened, trapping her inside, her boyfriend is in the hospital with second and third-degree burns. >> sap bruno firefighters offered the family their condolences at the service, including her eight-year-old brother, who bravely spoke about his sister. >> i wish she can come back. she was a great sister. from when she supported me and did everything for me to make me happy. >> reporter: jessica will be buried on monday. san bruno officials say four people are confirmed dead, and three others are still missing. four are still in the hospital, suffering from severe burns. in the news room, amy hollyfield, abc-7 news. >> alan: a san bruno man is suing pg&e saying the company should turn over its recovery fund to a third party. keith dare was evacuated after

the explosion and fire but the house he was renting was not damaged. this lawsuit claims pg&e could withhold the money or not follow through with its promises unless the money is placed in a court supervised account. the pg&e spokesman would not comment on the lawsuit. meantime, residents who lost nearly everything had one more chance to dig through the ashes and rubble before the cleanup begins next week. here's more. >> reporter: neighbors got one last chance to try to find what's left of their belongings buried in the ashes. charlie and helen had the help of firefighters. >> three of them were searching, and not in the safe or anything like that, but she has her mother's rings and like that. they found them. they found jewelry and stuff. >> needle in a hay stack, and one said, here's the needle in the haystack. >> reporter: many people lost important documents but the grays kept their will, the deed

to the house and other papers in a safe deposit box which somehow survived the intensity of the fire. the this event was sponsored by san mateo county. families have come here to learn how to react to an earthquake. today, most everyone wanted to know how to turn the gas off in the case of an explosion like the one in san bruno, there are things one can do. >> you want to make sure you get out of the house and if you know your neighbors, make sure they get out. and you also want to have a place to call a family member outside the area to let them know you're okay. if everybody in the family calls that person, then you don't have to worry about who is missing. >> that's what the grays did. >> we even had our son in arizona as our contact person in case anybody wanted to know what happened 'to us. they could call down there. >> reporter: the cleanup will begin next week. while this is happening, the bay area air quality management

district will install monitors. >> don't know what's going to happen now. i'm thinking of many things now. >> reporter: margaret sullivan was in her house. she is having a hard time sleeping at night. >> feel my body shaking. i'll be all right. i'll be all right. to be alive. >> reporter: this where is the american red cross is helpful, providing counseling to people who need it. abc-7 news. >> alan: a police chase in oakland ended with the suspect's car crashing into another vehicle. the chase ended up at the intersection of ignacio avenue and hide street this evening. the driver intentionally rammed a car, and the pursuit ended with the suspect slamming into a second car. the driver ran off but was caught and arrested. a woman in the second car was

taken to the hospital but her injuries are minor. authorities in southern california are searching for five missing adults and eight children who belong to a cult-like group. they left behind letters and said they were awaiting the end of the world. the missing people are from the palmdale areas. the husbands of two women reported them missing this morning. one of them was asked to hold a purse with i.d. cards, deeds to the property and letters saying they were awaiting the rapture or other catastrophic event. sheriffs deputies are searching for three vehicles. >> sarah shourd is on her way back to the united states. she thanked the country's leaders that helped her being released from the iranian prison. >> i will always associate your country with the first breath of my freedom. the sweet smell of sandalwood,

pressure on the well to see if the plug holds up. the disaster began in april when an explosion led to the worst offshore oil spill in u.s. history. for the first time, more than 500 people who live around the chevron refinery in richmond went inside the refinery for a tour. chevron hosted the tour to help educate people about the refinery's operation, safety procedures and environmental immigrant pacts. most people were pleased to learn more about the refinery. >> growing up and being around refineries, i had a concern, but this opportunity of the neighborhood here really helps you to understand, what really is going on, and when you see the smoke coming out of the stack, it's not pollution, it's steam. >> a lot of information about the plant and the operation of the plant. >> alan: chevron says it's opened its doors to the community to help demost identify the -- demystify the

refining process. the muni is on the lookout for fare cheats. some riders discovered the gates open by simply reaching over and waving a hand near the exit sensor. muni says it's known about the problem for a while but there's no short-term fix. a new fare gate system is supposed to be installed next month. until then, muni is posting more ticket inspectors and police officers police officers to catch fair evaders, the offense carries a 75 -- -- $75 fine. a burned cor ran -- curran -- koran is discovered inside a mosque. >> leigh: clouds are starting to thicken up, and the skies are starting to thicken up with clouds. we have a coal front poised to the north of us and we have the north of us and we have showers moving in here

mid-to-upper 50s. low 60s across the bay area. here's a look at the cold front. the low is actually here. it tracks to the north, and you can see this cold front getting a little scraggly, and we're not looking for a lot of moisture but gives us a good sense through the morning hours -- here's your 8:00 forecast. you can see the rain bands moving across. 1:00, we're on the backside of the system and that's when we will start to see clearing. the raiders are playing tomorrow, and the giants are playing. maybe a few lingering sprinkles. the first part of those games, and then the latter part we should see the partial clearing. how much rainfall? maybe a quarter inch in the north. here's a look at the highs for sunday. showers in the morning and
