tunnel that leads to a bart station. >> and three people had to be hospitalized for drug and alcohol overdoses. two are in critical condition. they were attending a concert an electronic music event. it's the second time that numerous people at the cow palace have been hospitalized for drug related injuries. before, nine people were hospitalized and two died. >> a man facing charges in the beating of a catholic priest who abused him 25 years ago denies any involvement. he turned himself into police yesterday. he was booked at the sanity county jail and released last night. lisa amin gulezian believe the assault was payback. >> he walked out of jail six

hours after turning himself in. he is accused of severely beating a former priest. but investigators insist that essentially far from innocent. and he says the attack at the retirement home was planned. >> he asked whether or not the father was there. the answer was yes, he was there and the suspect showed up about half an hour later and that is when the incident took place. >> the beating happened in this room, in front of several people. they air is his attacker asked, do you know who i am. >> but they have a history. the suspect and his brother accuse the priest of sexual abuse but jesuits awarded the brothers $625,000 after 1998. the family accuses the priest of

packages as they search for terrorists. president obama discussed the plot this morning with british prime minister david cameron. the plot sent shock waves worldwide because it went undetected. brian ross has the latest from zblrk of the two packages sent to chicago from yemen one was shipped by fed ex and the other by ups through england. authorities north of london seized a larges box with a printer, loaded with a pound of white powder. they say it was an explosive compound and was somehow detonated by a cell phone. >> they were larger than that. bird boxes in terms of size.

being bullied for their sexuality. research shows that young people that are gay or by sexual are four times more likely to commit suicide. >> the family knew he was bullied at school but what they did not know is how bad it was. he hanged himself from a tree in bakersfield this summer. >> seth had been picked on for years because he was gay. his suicide is one of many that made headlines across the country. lesbian, gay and transgender teenagers that took their own lives. >> i have lost friends, i've lost them to suicide. >> we sat down with alex, samati and a.j. at gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community center in san jose.

they all came out in high school. they say the bullying is relentless. >> i've been dragged across the quad for my color. >> i started bullying when i got a boyfriend. that is when i heard words like faggot or year. >> during a national day of protest for gay rights, even teachers weren't supportive. >> we had a teacher from my school, two of them in particular, they were like.... >> they say nine out of ten lbgt students were harassed. and about one-third skipped a day of school in the past month because they felt unsafe.

>> i felt so alone >> even my friend wouldn't stand up for me. they would make fun of me. >> one key to solving the problem is getting teens to talk to their parents. for the last nine years they have been studying family acceptance and rejection and how that effects the health of these children. fear can lead to depression, drug abuse and raises the risk of suicide. >> what we've learned from the research was that so many young people were terrified to come out to their parents because they would never support them. >> many parents seeing bullying as just part of life. unaware of the punishly deadly consequences, but her research shows that parents don't need to accept or understand it to make
