on the bay bridge. >> they need to slow down still. we're still getting accidents out there. >> reporter: the roads were more than just wet. in some parts they were a mess. this tree split. and downed power lines briefly affect muni service. the final round of the charles schwab cup championship at harding park was put on hold for two hours because of a rain delay. these tourists lost part of their vacation to the weather, not to mention the view of the city skyline. >> we were headed to the oakland raiders game but we didn't want to sit in the rain and watch the raiders. >> perhaps the only ones thrilled about the downpower were the thousands flocking to the san francisco ski and boardfest. rain in the bay area means snow in tahoe very soon and that white translates to a lot of green for these vendors.

>> reporter: fresh off the mid-term election gains, top republicans quickly set their sights on president obama's health care reform program enacted in law this year. >> obama care is one of the worst pieces of legislation passed in the modern history of the country. >> reporter: he isn't alone. several republicans are vowing drastic changes or scrapping it. the republicans say it puts the government in charge of vital healthcare decisions but it's an uphill battle. >> it will be difficult with him in the white house. if we can replace it with the common sense reforms we were advocating, we owe it to the american people to do that. >> reporter: a leading house democrat, jim cryburn, isn't phased, and accusing the republicans are spinning

rhetoric on the issue. >> a whole lot of money to misrepresent what the plan is. >> reporter: clyburn says the healthcare reforms will be with the nailing for, quote, long, long time. >> alan: the bay area man who revolutionized the internet with netscape things he has tomorrow. he is launching a new browser called rock melt. it's built on social media sites like facebook and twitter and tries to minimize the need to roam from one site to another by putting everything on the browser itself. the browser only works if you have a facebook account. up next, contra costa county says almost everybody should get a flu vaccine. and one of the chilean miners trapped underground runs in the new york city marathon.

can definitely get a sense of the activity popping up near redwood city, sunnyvale, and here's pretty much the trajectory of these next line of showers. san jose, and los got a -- los gatos. so it's not quite over with yet. although drier air is filtering in. right now, 56 in san francisco, 57 for antioch. 56 for the livermore valley year, and look for the showers to be ending, and patchy fog overnight. much cooler as we are now, and on the backside of the cold front, dry and breezy monday, and then the next chance of showers by tuesday. looks like that might stay mainly in the north bay. chilly overnight, napa, 42, 42 for livermore.
