welcome back. it's 8:18 on this saturday morning. you are looking at a live picture from the camera on top of our roof. you can see the embarcadero and bay bridge. over at the airport, lingering fog so there are delays of about 30 minutes for arriving flights but no traffic delays anywhere on the roadways.

and rain will possibly start moving in today. we want to get the full scoop, with lisa argen. >> we have a weak system that is off shore and it's been time we've seen rain. in san jose, reports of fog this morning as well as mountain view. you can see the gray sky there. it's 50 degrees there where temperatures kind of mild in the southeast wind out ahead of the front that is off shore. we'll be looking at the possibility of rain to the north of san jose later on today. temperatures around the bay, who's and 50s. a little more mild this morning. in fact livermore and napa are 11 degrees warmer. 50 in fremont. half mile visibility in santa rosa this morning. we'll be looking at the fog once again in the central valley and cold front we'll see some sunshine throughout early next week because they've been socked in with the low clouds and fog and even the north bay

communities didn't clear yesterday. with the showers that will mix things out. they will arrive tonight but behind the front, another area of rain, possibility of thunderstorms tomorrow morning. then we're back into a dry weather period with cool weather to start to work and return to sunshine for the entire workweek as we begin friday. high pressure has been out there. fair weathermaker holding on. it's about to give way. here is the low. it's just off the coast. its weak one. we'll see high elevation snow with this area of low pressure. it will sink to the south and east. that will bring showers to the north bay as far as south as perhaps sfo by this evening. here is a look at our timing. the front begins to push through the bay area around 8:00 tonight. then behind it we have another area of rain in the overnight hours, early morning hours on sunday. here is the low. that is going to generate the showers through the peninsula, south bay and east bay

communities through early sunday into sunday afternoon. that set the stage for another dry week. up to an inch of rain in the higher elevations of the north bay mountains. only a 10th in the south bay, maybe a half inch to three-quarters of an inch in the santa cruz mountains. higher elevation snow above 7,000 feet, maybe up to a foot of snow. later on today, look for clearing in the south bay. we'll see numbers in the upper 50s. mildest conditions will be here but as you head out through the peninsula, lots of cloud cover. 56 in redwood city. temperatures cooler than average. 53 downtown and in the north bay look for numbers to be cool and the rain to move in. in cloverdale, 56. near east bay. 55 in san leandro and 58 in fremont.

we told you last week how a landlord prematurely threatened some of them from an apartment after there were minor violations found. wayne freedman reports some of the hardship cases are getting help from the county. ♪ >> andrew of san rafael just doesn't play the blues but other residents have been living the blues due to an ongoing fight with company that owns the land beneath the mobile home. >> we do appear to be a victim of a vindictive landlord. >> first, the landlord out of chicago won a ruling in federal court that eliminates rent control by 2018. there is a second provision that allows the company to raise rent on any lot where people leave.

so earlier this month, dozens of residents were suspicious when that landlord spent premature eviction warnings after minor violations of a routine state inspection. they included trash, weeds and one home improperly installed christmas lights. she had to move a storage shed which inspectors say is a fire hazard. that is not easy for a woman on a fixed income. >> it's always money. >> susan adams who chairs the marin housing authority which has an emergency relief fund. they will funnel some of the money here, a case of the county protecting its own from an out of town landlord. >> they believe they have the right to use the tactics they are using, doesn't feel like it's the right kind of approach. >> maximum grant would be

29. you've got the marine layer and we're talking about low clouds and fog throughout much of the bay area this morning. fog in the south bay, mountain view and san jose still in the north, in santa rosa, 40s and 50s around the bay to start your saturday. with the cloud cover sticking around but we will see partial clearing. temperatures definitely a lot cooler than what we've been used to. showers will arrive north of the golden gate and maybe at the airport later this e-mailing. possibility of a thunderstorm and cool, dry weather takes over again to start the week. we're looking at below where we should be in san jose. okay in san francisco but we definitely could use some rain. this isn't going to bring us much and continue to slide to the east, southeast. we'll see a little bit of rain. its quick mover and a weak system. we'll begin to see the showers in the north bay from mendocino

county and perhaps marin later on today. by 5:00 we're dry, by 8:00 it begins to move through the bay. a few showers around the peninsula. later on, the front moves through and behind it colder air still unstable. that is why we could see a shower, another round of rain for the north bay, the peninsula santa cruz mountains and we'll look by 10:00 in the morning being the wet sector of the storm and high pressure building back in with some fog to start the workweek. in terms of rainfall amounts. we're talking wettest locations here, northern sonoma county, up by cloverdale, point reyes, about an inch. elsewhere, only a tenth of an inch, maybe a half inch around fremont and south bay, quarter to half an inch. we'll take what we can get. in the mountains, two to four, three to six inches of snow at lake level.

this time -- it worked. >> three days later we get a letter from the man who owned the place, we're sorry, here is your money. >> they didn't respond to our requests for a statement about what happened in this case. however, vacation rental's owner said, when we informed of the situation we took action to assist them by reaching out to the homeowner. we assumed the situation had been resolved however after hearing from abc7 we have reopened the case and have taken appropriate action. company would not say what that action was. however a check shows the unit is no longer listed. >> i was so happy 7 on your side was able to get my money back. the trip was fabulous and makes it better. >> in most states including california and hawaii, failure to return a security deposit may
