home. the marin county coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. police shot and killed map in oakland's rockridge district today. here's more on the city's second fatal officer-involved shooting in three days. >> reporter: until today, rock around residents would have been hard-pressed to believe something like this could happen here. a neighbor describes the shooting victim as a boyfriend of the woman who lived in this house. police received complaints he was patrolling up and down taft avenue in camouflage with what appeared to be an assault rifle that turned out to be a replica. >> it was weapon. there was an automatic rifle. >> what did it fire? >> we don't know yet. we haven't been able to test it to see what it fires. >> reporter: police say he entered this house with two people inside. one of them ran out. the situation escalated from there. >> the officers approached the

home from the front. as they got up the stairs, a gentleman, who we have not confirmed his name yet, exited the home, and confronted the officers, armed with an automatic rifle. the officers immediately opened fire on the gentleman, which ended his life. >> reporter: police say three officers shot simultaneously and would not speculate on whether the shooting was justified, but there are conflicting opinions from witnesses who saw the leadup. >> overuse of force. i can't imagine that one couldn't have shot him in the leg, and that we don't need to kill people in quiet residential neighborhoods because they're acting strength. >> reporter: but tony drop boss ski, who lives cross the street, says also he saw it, police had been exercising restraint. >> they gave whatever it was, a two block area, would have said,

frontal system, and thenninganne area of low pressure, and rain could be heavy at times and isolated thunderstorms tomorrow. we'll check out the forecast coming up. >> alan: thank you, leigh. police found a man shot to death early this morning in east palo alto, and now they're searching for witnesses to help track down the suspects. officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1:45 in the morning on capital avenue. when they arrived they found a 37-year-old man withgunshot wounds. his identity has not been released. take a look at this. pacifica police say a suspected drunk driver crashed her pickup truck into a bar at closing time. you can see the result of the crash two customers inside the winters tavern were injured and taken to a hospital. the driver, karla andres, was

also injured. among other charges, facing a felony dui charge. >> jackie speier introduced a bill to tess sig nice -- designate corner events in january. there was a noticeable police presence at speier's event. >> we can't let this horrendous act go unaddressed, and that we must move forward, making sure the democratic process -- it doesn't just survive but that it thrives. >> alan: the shooting brought back vivid memories for speier, who what shot five times during a human rights mission in 1978 while working for congressman leo rye -- ryan, she said

recovering from a shooting is a long process. jane kim refused to say the pledge of allegiance. kim stands up but does not recite the words. she says it's the word with liberty and justice for all, that she disagrees with, saying there is no liberty and justice for all yet. we talked to kim and asked her what her constituents think about her decision. >> i think they care more about my position on how to make muni more effective and keep our streets clean and safe, than my reasons for not reciting the pledge. >> alan: her predecessor also objected to the pledge, refusing to say the words "under god. ".

>> alan: the death toll in egypt is rising and chaos is spreading as the country enters it's sixth day of antigovernment protests. there are reports of wide-spread looting, the egyptian's president decision to name a vice-president for the first anytime 30 years appears to have done little to stop the anger. here's more. report record the anger raged through the night. by morning there was a smoldering calm. then hosni mubarak named a vice-president. the first time egypt has had one in 30 years. he head of the nation's intelligence service and is well-known and respected in diplomatic circles, about it's doubtful the protestors will expect one of mubarak's con fit can'ts running the country. should the president step a side. in the streets saturday, different picture than friday. the army has taken control of the streets. nowhere to be seen is the hated

[chanting] >> alan: and in san francisco, several hundred demonstrators showed their solidarity with the uprising in egypt. they marched from market and montgomery street0ss to u.n. plaza. they are demanding the resignation of hosni mubarak who had ruled there for almost 30 years. >> the san francisco journalist is fining herself in the middle of the chaos. rachel anderson moved to cairo on a rotary scholarship to produce videos for a local newspaper. she has been documenting the protests over the last week. today we spoke with her via skype, and asked her what egyptants whatnot their their government. >> they want mubarak to just leave and be done, be gone. they want something new. so as long as he does anything,

parts of the bay area. the high definition east bay cam showing the thickening clouds, and let's see what's going on with live doppler 7hd. the band of clouds moving in towards the winsor area, and santa rosa picking up a little light rain. sacramento, and dixon, and it's all thanks to this next impulse. this is a cold front, and behind it an area of low pressure, and all of this is just going to swing in across the bay area overnight tomorrow and tomorrow morning. temperaturewise, few 40s. the rest of us in the 50s, and well go with increasing showers overnight. there's going to be some cooler air moving in tomorrow morning so we bring in a chance of some thunderstorms possible tomorrow morning, and by tomorrow afternoon, we'll dry things out and next week will be cool and dry. this is one impulse that moved through earlier in the day. this is a secondary cold front,

and this is the area of low pressure. this where is we get the instability tomorrow so look for all this rotating in and increasing overnight. a little light rain, 5:00, 6:00, and then as the cold front gets close, that's when the first wave will move in, and by tomorrow morning, you seal the low getting very close to us, the cooler air mass, and we could see isolated thunderstorms by mid-day tomorrow that low will exit the bay area, and by tomorrow afternoon, we look for the partial clearing. close to an inch of rain expected north bay area. maybe a quarter to three-quarters of an inch. and in the high country, we're looking at a winter weather advisory through sunday afternoon. the first snow since january 14th. three to six inches lake level, and above 7,000 feet, close to an inch. most of the strongest activity will be tomorrow morning, showers could be heavy at times, isolated thunderstorms as the
