looks like it's clearing out. >> leigh: you can see on live doppler 7hd that most of the moisture has pushed on towards the south, starting to evaporate. and you can see the low pressure system centered off the coastline has moved to the south, and all of that is moving into southern california. it did leave us some snowfall. here's some snow totals for today. mt. atm, four inches. six inches, mt. diablo. monterey, the higher ridges, close to five inches and rainfall very impressive. these are 4 -- 24-hour totals. let me show you the storm totals. monday through saturday, close to seven inches, close to four inches for san francisco. we get a little bit of a break tomorrow. but more rain is in the seven-day forecast.

>> alan: in the south bay, drivers are still being cautioned about the road conditions. we're knee the summit of the accept cruz mountains. >> reporter: first it wasser to rein -- torrential rain, and then it was snow, and tonight it's fog and plummeting temperatures. caltrans is warning drivers the roads are slippery, and with freezing temperatures they could get icy as well. signs on highway 17 in the santa cruz mountains warn of slippery road conditions. the concern here is black eye. but earlier today, the only concern some children had is what to do in the snow. the afternoon air along skyline boulevard was filled with the sound of excitement. some parents gave their children a special treat. >> just have to experience snow. it's cool stuff. >> my kids begged me to come up

here. >> reporter: it may have ban treat for parents and children but some drivers found it cop -- confining. >> road conditions may have been treacherous, but rain caused a car to hydroplane. it flipped into creek. >> we were able to pull them out report authority was -- >> reporter: there was a short snowfall this evening but the snow is gone but the road remains dangerous, leigh glaser tells us they santa cruz mountains can still expect some kind of moisture, maybe snow flurries until 1:00 this morning, definitely freezing temperatures. so anyone using highway 17 over the summit should use caution. reporting live, abc-7 news.

>> alan: we have more pictures of snow that fell around the bay area today. in the berkeley hills they got a light dusting. this is grizzly peak. not much snow but just enough for a snowball fight. here's mt. die an blome -- mt. diablo. and this video from mt. hamilton shows a seen more like the sierra. a downed tree closed piedmont of gnaw in berkeley. crews were called in to clear he road near the intersection at channing way. they had to use chain saws and a mulcher to get it open. it snowed for a fifth day in the sierra. and travel up interstate 80 and highway 50 was difficult because the weather, combined with the crowd of people driving up. both lanes are traffic are flowing freely the sierra.

his daughter needed a bone marrow transplant. welsh is accused of selling the drugs with the help of christopher butler, private investigator. butler is facing the same charges as welsh. >> in daly city a mother and two children are being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. the three victims were taken to the medical center for an evaluation, and they're expected to be fine. pg&e is investigating whether a malfunctioning wall heater may be to blame for the leak. despite the rain, hundreds of thousands of people turned out for this year's chinese new year's parade in san francisco. more than 5,000 people take part in the celebration each year, along with hundreds of volunteers. there are 26 floats, and lots of marching bands and drums and

telescope. back here on earth, an update on a two-year-old dog that disappeared near sacramento. he was reunited with his owner after turning up more than 700 miles away. bear disappeared on tuesday. his owner didn't think he would see his dog again but a woman found bear and took him to the humane society in tacoma, washington. he drove to tacoma as soon as he got the news. >> somebody picked him up to keep him. he had a name tag on him, phone numbers, and i got no phone calls. >> alan: the humane society used the dog's microchip to track down brian. no one knows how bear got to tacoma, but one thing for sure, he probably hitched a ride somewhere along the way there. >> leigh: probably glad to be home. >> alan: looks like everything is clearing out,. >> leigh: everything starting to clear out. boy, it's going to be a cold

night out there. here's a live shot from the high definition tamalpais camera, and expected temperatures right near the freezing mark by early tomorrow morning. live doppler 7hd pretty much tells the story. the moisture has kicked towards the east, and here's a look at those current readings. already in the 30s, as that colder air mass is starting to make its way across the region. santa rosa right now, 36. 39 in san rafael, napa, 38. 44 in san francisco, 43 in san holiday say. -- san jose. and we'll go with cold temperatures overnight. there's a very good likelihood in some of those locations, where they did see the moisture, black ice could form, and we're looking for frost to develop inland. look for partly sunny and cool

day for sunday, and we are going to bring in a slight chance of maybe few showers for monday. here's a look at that low pressure system. it just started to push on towards the south and the east of the bay area this evening. this low right here is what could possibly bring us the return of those showers on monday. forecast models want to keep it off the coast, and if it does so, we can expect a dry day on monday. if this low decides to track further inland, it could bring us a possibility of showers, and those forecast models will update themselves tomorrow. 11:00 tonight, you'll notice that the storm clouds move on out, and we'll keep clouds just the coast. and patchy fog, and dry conditions for sunday, a mixture of sun and clouds. here's a look at the expected lows tonight 29 for clover deal. 40, san francisco.
