satellite phone or computer every a die. >> corpsman joe burns is 20 years old today. when he was deployed to afghanistan, he was deployed with his unit, and many of them were suffering from the flu and there wasn't enough medicine. joe burns spent his own money to buy enough medicine to treat his men, and because of his actions and his wound, jacky speier will be reading his name in the congressional record next week. >> alan: pg&e has launched an exhaustive around the clock search for every document related to the pipeline system. 300 fulltime workers are sifting through thousands of books of paperwork, some dating back to the 1920s. the public utilities commission issued the order after the pipeline explosion that killed eight people and destroyed 38

homes. workers are sorting at several locations, including this one at the cow palace. they have a deadline of march 15th. >> we are busy collecting, scanning and indexing an estimated 1 11 -- 1.25 million records and putting them in an electronic database. >> alan: a preliminary report on the explosion uncovered a poorly welded seam along the main pipe that failed. a final report is expected in six months. >> carbon monoxide poisoning as a san francisco apartment building sent two people to the hospital today. the building owner and a resident were taken to the hospital, and firefighters evacuated the complex. firefighters say they were both conscious and able to talk to paramedics. officials say the carbon monoxide buildup was caused by a gas heater's malfunctioning flue

used to vent carbon monoxide. >> well, police are -- the contra costa county sheriff's department says one of its officers has been arrested in connection with the state investigation into stolen drug evidence. the sheriff's department says 47-year-old steven tanabi was arrested for possession of and transfer of an assault rifle along with conspiracy to possess and sell drugs. his arrest follows the arrest of drug task force commander norman welsh and private investigator christopher butler. on monday, welsh pleaded not guilty to charges he stole drugs. police are asking for the public's help in catching a group of suspects they say assaulted and robbed a man at the redwood city cal train station. investigators say a group of nine to 15 suspects carried out a strong-arm robbery of a

47-year-old san jose resident while he was waiting for a southbound caltrain. suspects fled before police arrived. but investigators are following up on potential leads from witnesses. anyone with information should contact the san mateo county transit police. escalating gang wars have the guardian angels increasing patrol in san francisco's mission district. there were three shootings last weekend. in this incident last sunday marks was a man was shot while sitting in a car the police believe as a rivalry between two gangs. the guardian angelled will be on the streets from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and will arrest anyone who breaks the law. in an effort to improve hygiene, b.a.r.t. is considering replacing its cushion covered seats with easier to clean hard surface chairs. this comes after numerous complaints about dirty seat

cushions. b.a.r.t. officials say a survey found a significant drop in customer satisfaction in terms of cleanliness on board their trains. >> we heard from our customers they want a cleaner b.a.r.t. train, and we're responding to that and you will see in our next budget we're going to invest more in cleanliness of the train. >> alan: this is after an experiment with the state pie biology lab. they discovered molt -- mold and antibiotic resistant back bacteria on the cushion. b.a.r.t. officials say it's not surprising considering there are nearly 300,000 riders a day. they want the fog weigh in on the debate. >> minority leader nancy pelosi nils the bay area. she was at pier 70 with ed lee to emphasize the importance of investing in san francisco's shipping ports to create more

jobs. later, pelosi highlighted the success of san francisco's large dry docks which attract business from all over the world because of their resources. >> i'm happy to be here today because it's part of our effort in congress nationally. we take pride in what we're doing here, as a national example of how this can be done. but it has to be done all over the country. >> alan: pelosi says the port industry is responsible for more than 13 million jobs but could contribute even more through better infrastructure investment. she emphasized the importance of dredging in the bay something the city's port directors agreed with saying it will help attract bigger ships. >> now to that cat burglar who was caught on surveillance cameras stealing items from his neighbors. this is how dusty, a.k.a. klepto the cat is finally cleaning up his act.

means a warmer air mass. 54 for san francisco. here's the story. high pressure kept everything to the north of us today. clouds thickening up now in association with this cold front that will move in overnight tonight. the rain, heavy at times, and then this thing is going to move by rather quickly tomorrow afternoon. we'll be on the back side of it and the heavy rain will return to scattered showers. here's the timing. notice that most everything during the overnight hours up to 1:00 a.m., stays north of the golden gate bridge, then after that the frontal band starts to move in. 4:00 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 tomorrow morning, potentially heavy rain and then scattered showers showers and starts to dissipate. rainfall potential, maybe an inch inch and a half, higher elevations and the santa cruz mountains and maybe a half inch. the high country high snow
