>> jimmy: what it is-ness. we have an "american idol" office pool here because we gamble on everything, so -- we drew numbers. i got the number two pick and since he has irritable bowel syndrome, i felt like i had to go with casey abrams. he isn't your typical "american idol." number one, he's talented, and number two, it looks like he sleeps under a freeway. they interviewed his parents on the show last night. they did it for all the contestants. when you look at casey's parents, it explains a lot. >> i got a lot of flak about them being older but in the end i feel awesome because they're much wiser than all the other parents. >> my wife loves children, but i can't bear them. >> jimmy: he's three-quarter muppet. he's -- he's half bear, father's fozzy and then two gay

grandfathers that hive on a balcony. hillary clinton says if president obama is elected again, she will not stay with the white house and she probably won't stay if he isn't elected, either, to be honest. but this has got to be, i mean, the worst news bill has had since his cable provider stopped carrying the playboy channel, right? hillary said she wants to slow down and devote more time to kur rating her collection of pantsuits. she also said she has no interest in being president, vice president or defense secretary. doesn't matter anyway. we already know who our next president is going to be, and it's going to be donald trump. he spoke to ashleigh banfield from his private jet about his possible run for the president si. he said he would spend $600 million of his own money to run. >> you would put up $600 million for this? >> absolutely. >> do you have it to spare? >> much more than that. >> part of the beauty of me is that i'm very rich. >> jimmy: well, yeah, that's right.

[ applause ] the other part being his modesty. trump's starting in on president obama. he's one of these guys that questions whether the president was born in this country. he says his birthplace is suspect because no one seems to remember him from when he was young. trump said if you interview me, people from my elementary school, they'll remember me. which, yeah, who wouldn't remember a 5-year-old with a combover? $4,000 suit. those are things you don't forget. the future president also took time to weigh in on one of the most difficult problems our country faces right now. which is charlie sheen. >> well, i know charlie. he married brooke, who is a member of marilago. brooke is from palm beach. and i told the parents, don't let your daughter marry him.

i think he's wonderful but he's a disaster. don't let your daughter marry him. >> jimmy: he's a wonderful disaster. i think that's the best summation i've heard so far of charlie sheen. he's a disaster, but he's wonderful. speaking of politics, we've been following a very important story here on the show from the city of ft. wayne, indiana. if you have been watching us, you know they just opened a new government center and launched an online poll to let people in the town vote on what to name it. the name that got the most votes by far was harry baals. harry baals was a very popular mayor of ft. wayne during the '30s, '40s and '50s. he spelled it b-a-a-l-s. and though the people of ft. wayne said loud and clear with thousands of votes they wanted to honor harry, the current mayor decided to name it citizens square, not harry baals. and obviously i was outraged.

of thing from happening. >> when i scheduled that i wasn't thinking that it was the day after. >> jimmy: it was brought to my attention that you have been keeping a journal. how long have you been keeping this journal? >> since i was 18. >> jimmy: 18. how regularly do you write in the journal? >> weekly at least. when i start eed writing when i was 18 i was in australia, i just graduated from high school. >> jimmy: why were you in australia? >> 18 years old, right? life was great. i graduated, i made my grades, did my chores, had some cash, mom and dad were like, if you hadn't learned from us yet, it's too late. great car, great girlfriend, my golf handicap was 4, i was catching green lights, right. i didn't know what i wanted to do. so, my mom came up with the idea, said, you want to be an exchange student. i said sure. so -- >> jimmy: aren't you supposed to still be in high school to be -- >> this is two weeks out of high

school. it was between australia and sweden. i headed out. and i get out there and they put me back in high school and not only in 12th grade, they put me in 11th grade because i went over in the middle of the semester. >> jimmy: because of the time differences? >> [ bleep ], right? hell of a trip, man. they said, you know, you're going to be with this group of kids and in the middle of the semester, so, i go for the first six months for them, stop for the summer, you come back and get the next six months with the sail gang. it was a great idea in their mind. >> jimmy: didn't work out? >> no, i didn't. >> jimmy: why not? seems like anned adventure. >> it was. they were wearing uniforms, they had blue ties, button down shirts and i was like, i don't think that's going to work for me. i went to class, english class, doing creative writing and the teacher's handing me back my papers, just with fs all over them, red marks all over them. you can't use contractions, you

can't use this language and i'm going, ma'am, i passed that test already, i promise you i know how to write, i know my punctuation, i'm just -- >> jimmy: i never heard anyone going back for an encore high school. >> it doesn't last long. i started skipping class. found myself frequently in the library with my journal, reading lord byron, listen iing to u2 or and over and over. luckily i had -- the head principal came to me after i had been skipping for two weeks. and he said, matthew, i can tell this isn't working out for you. i said, no, it's not. we got this thing called work experience. you can go work for somebody, not get paid, but you'll get school credit. i said, i'm in. so, found myself as a bank teller in the australian-new zealand bank. assistant golf pro. found myself shoveling sheep

>> i was the gorilla. the idea was this. he wrote a song called "fully in the park" and it's about hollywood and experience he had in hollywood and people were, like, writing him lines, saying, be this, say this. i wanted to make a funny video. i started thinking, what's the bottom of the rung, what is the worst or the hardest these bee yan job to have in hollywood. i looked around for one, i said, you know what would be rough, guys and girls that are really scrapping for it are those super hero impersonators on hollywood boulevard. i'm going to do a story about the day in the life of them. i got my story down and the next day i'm driving down lincoln boulevard and i stop at a red light and look to my right and there's a huge tire shop and there's this guy dressed as a gorilla, spinning that sign, saying, come on in. and i went -- that's the guy!

that's the guy. so, i told the story about the day in the life of him. >> jimmy: did you like being the guy? >> it was fun being the guy. he was a guy who, he's a gor little la. he gets fired from his job at the top. pretty tough to get fired from that job. his bottle of mad dog is empty. his ban that dan is down to the nib, just the runt of it. and he's having a tough day. so, that scene is when he shows up in a little country and western bar and dances his blews off. >> jimmy: you paint a much more romantic picture of what goes on out there. may be fun for a few hours in the air conditioning, but when you spin the sign, it's the worst thing. >> and getting fired. tough to get fired from that job. >> jimmy: fired as a monkey. we're going to take a break here. when we come back, we're going to talk about the new film, "the lincoln lawyer." matthew mcconaughey is here. sounds like a mini-wheats day to me! and becka's science fair is on the 8th.
