area. i was an organizer. >> documents show that leaders knew month for more than 40 years that he was predator. in 1970 the president of loyola academy wrote -- his presence here has become positively destructive and corrosive. i consider it essential that he be removed from this community. letter was written to one of the top jesuits in chicago. mcguire was transferred to other places and from 1976 to 1981 he taught at usf st. ignatius. they held a press conference in front of the st. ignatius church to reach out to other potential victims. even though to date, no student from usf has come forward. >> to tar us and make us if we're guilty of something when

no one has come forward and no evidence that anything has happened, i think it's unfair to the university. >> the only way that we have been able to get documents and find out about the truth has been through the civil justice system. more victims come forward and use the civil justice system the more we can get to the bottom of what happened. >> in 1981 three months after mcguire was forced to leave us they wrote a letter to superiors. done will have to undergo serious evaluation and therapy. he maim mother theresa's confesser. knowing that this mother felt never uncomfortable. she says her son was molested by mcguire. >> he is in jail but what happens to the rest of people. he conducted a number of retreats during a four-year

stay. he never apologized. he said he was pray for his accusers. he is 80 years old. a former east bay narcotics agent at the center of a growing scandal is opening up about what happened. norman wielsch is head of narcotics task force. he is facing charges he is also accused in a civil luit of stealing private property during warrant searches. they released these surveillance images which claim those show him searching a store without a warrant and seizing personal items but he says it's not him. >> to me, it looks like the officer has tattoos. if you look at the hair, the hair is not the same and build is not the same. plus we wear different gear. if i have done something wrong, i'll admit to it but if it's not

me, it's not me. >> it could involve millions of dollars in damages if it goes forward. scott peterson is asking for more time to appeal. the lawyer filed for the extension yesterday. it was the second time peterson's lawyer made this request. peterson was sentenced to death in 2005 after a san mateo county jury found him guilty of killing his pregnant wife. pg&e restored power last night to all 4400 people who were without power just after 11:00. was the second outage affecting thousands of customers in the city yesterday. early yesterday morning, thousands lost power in hate valley due to under ground equipment failure. investigators are still trying to determine the cause. >> coming up next, japanese

after a burning of quran last week. the crowd overwhelmed afghan police and left five people dead. japan's stricken nuclear plant is leaking radioactive water in the ocean. the crack was discovered along the ocean edge of the plant. authorities believe it may be the source of radioactivity found in coastal waters. it shows twice the term of short term radiation to increase cancer risks in humans but they say high levels of radiation dilute to safer levels. emergency workers plan to use concrete to seal off the leak. japanese coastguard searching for people rescued a dog found drifting on a roof about three miles off the coast in the middle of the ocean yesterday. they believe he survived for

cooler than what we sort of got used to the past couple of days. looking pretty good now in fremont with a mild 55. 55 in redwood city. winds are blowing out towards the delta, 63 in antioch and 54 this morning in napa. we're not talking about rain. we're talking about dry conditions, cooler numbers and the winds will stay with us for tomorrow especially in san francisco. we'll look for breezy northwesterly winds and temperatures right around where they should be for this time of the year. rain chances, they do come back toward the middle of the week. notice the green to the north of us. we do have moisture associated with this weak cold front but it's to the north, around mt. shasta. some of the mountains we'll see a little bit of snow mix and the system will keep the clouds around today and we'll see high pressure quickly build in behind it.

they've received so much snow there is also a danger that comes with it if you are going up to lake tahoe. we're talking about avalanche season. as laura anthony reports, she actually went out to heavenly and hung out with the avalanche control team. those are the experts that use explosives to keep their guests safe. >> the sign says it all on the way to heavenly's canyon. >> it can be great skiing season. >> as enticing the ski slopes are, with the thrill comes risk. >> the slope angle is a big part of part of an avalanche. >> they are part of heavenly's avalanche control team. after the recent storms, it's their job to bring down the snow on their terms.

can grab a car and go. >> the concept is simple, those in need of a car reserve one in the neighborhood and car owners put one up for rent. >> i don't use it all the time. this is a great way to make extra money off my car. >> she and ryan are happy with relay rides which bills itself the first peer to peer car sharing site. it started in boston. in massachusetts there are 50 participants renting out vehicles to 1,000 borrowers. >> so far the owners make $250 a month in their pocket. we've seen those numbers between $600 and thousand dollars a month. >> not alone in this market. similar companies do the same thing. jessica found getaround. >> basically car sharing has taken off the last ten years.
