good morning. thanks for joining us. i'm carolyn tyler. a regard has been offered in los angeles to try to identify two dodger fans that severely beat a bay area giants' fan at thursday's seasonal opener in l.a. the victim is paramedic from santa cruz. he remained hospitalized in los angeles in critical condition. his name is brian stowe and he is in a medically induced coma. david louie spoke with family members that can't believe it could es kliat into violence. >> i pray every minute of every day they find the cowards that did this. >> jesse cares deeply about her former husband, brian stowe. had he remain good friends and they share custody of two children. 12-year-old tyler and an

8-year-old. >> each of them break down at different times. biggest fear says the father won't remember them. and if the unthinkable happens, they both want to see him. >> los angeles police are investigating why the two suspects between 18 and 25 years old attacked him from behind. he fell to the ground and was hit repeatedly in the head and body. stowe is in an induced coma. other giants' fans say the mood at dodger stadium disturbs them. >> it's how some people behave. we've been doing this for four seasons now and this season, it takes a lot out of you. people don't have no sportsmanship at all. >> stowe was a paramedic and he avoids confrontation and he was trying to walk away.

for now the son and daughter are doing their best to keep occupied with everyday activities. >> tabitha has played two softball games and dedicated both games to her dad. tyler tries to stay busy. >> the family hopes the suspects will be identified and arrested. they also wait for hopeful news about his condition. >> i believe firmly he knows he got into trouble and he needs to be a father to them. >> reporter: police in los angeles a surveillance tape hasn't produced any leads but there were potential witnesses as fans left the game. they have put up a $10,000 reward for information. back here in the bay area, a fund has been set up to help pay for his medical bills. those details are on our website at abc7news.com. click on see it on tv.

southwest airlines citizen it will cancel another 300 flights all over the country today. 79 of the aircraft remain out of service for inspections, so far oakland has cancelled about dozen flights. sfo at least one cancellation. san jose has cancelled five flights. the airline advises passengers to check southwest.com for specific flight changes. as know this is all due to friday's emergency over arizona where a flight developed a huge tear in the fuselage. the oxygen masks dropped down. two people suffered minor injuries before the plane made an emergency landing. now nstb inspectors are outlying the black boxes back to washington to see what caused this incident. just minutes ago the n.t.s.b. gave us this update. >> we have clear evidence that

officers went to the house after a report of gun shows. they say when officers entered his property with guns drawn, he left he let them know he had a pit bull that was friendly. when he was only shooting an air pistol and the officers were light-hearted over the pellet gun. >> everything was okay. he was laughing at the window. don't worry about it. three people told him the dog is friendly and he shot him. >> the police officer says he shot the dog and growling and moving towards him. the department says it's an unfortunate situation where we have to be careful. starting tomorrow the chp and 225 california police agencies will launch a month

long crackdown on distracted drivers. they will be increasing patrols looking for drivers who ignore the ban on hand-held phone calls and text messaging. more than 350,000 california drivers have been ticketed since the cell ban took effect in july 2008. 600 more have been cited for texting ban. epselon a company that manages e-mail to tivo, banks and supermarket chain reports a security breach that has expose customers' names and e-mails addresses. online notices are online for tivo customers. while names and e-mail addresses have been compromised all the companies say no other personal information is at risk. epselon does does not have access to credit card numbers.

no pain. nmess. no surprise here, president obama wants another four years in os. he is expected to officially announce his intention to run for reelection as early as tomorrow and he reportedly will make the announcement in a video message. he is setting pretty lofty goals. they hope to raise one billion dollars. 2008 he raised $750 million. >> it could take months to get under control the crisis at n japan. they say it's going to take some time to repair all the damage from the march 11th earthquake and tsunami. yesterday, engineers tried to seal a crack that has been leaking of water on a pacific

ocean. a concrete mixture failed so they are injecting a mixture and special expanding polymer. so far the crack still leaks but they are given tomorrow to fully set. they announced two workers died at the plant when the tsunami initially hit. that information was withheld until the families were notified. >> the oakland a's are donating a dollar from every ticket sold to the red cross to raise money for japan's disaster victims. two of japan's biggest stars will be on the field. hideki matsui and mariners ichero suzuki. they have created a t-shirt that will be given out to the first 10,000 fans. uniforms that suzukiwore will be auctioned off.

charlie sheen may want on revamp his show before it hits the bay area. he was boo'd and yelled at fans by disappointed fans in detroit in the first leg of his four. the former cast of "two and a half men" took the stage. he was greeted by fans. but before the concert was over they were chanting for a refund. >> the guy that opened for him was absolutely horrible. he got boo'd off the stage. >> everybody wanted out. there was more people smoking. it was really boring. he is losing! >> more of his chloral rants

the cloud cover. we do have what was left behind but the cloud cover brought yesterday morning. 45 in san rafael. 53 degrees in antioch. 50 in napa and 39 degrees it started this morning. santa rosa, 55. mountain view, 54. 54 in san jose. so cool, breezy this morning but by this afternoon, we'll see our temperatures come up a few degrees we have daytime highs because we did have the cloud cover but picking up lost ground from cooler night lows. cooler temperatures, return to rain and snow return to the area yesterday we only a trace of rain from that system.

it's still moving through the southern half of the southern california. then we're starting to see this build in. the high pressure associated cloud cover behind it will move to the noutdz north of us into the pacific northwest and way out in the pacific. look at all that cold air that is moving our way by mid-week. our forecast for this sunday is pretty nice. mostly sunny. a few high clouds. daytime highs in the upper 60s. low 70s. coast temperatures will be in the upper 50s. san mateo a high of 65. no flight delays and san francisco airport due to weather 64 downtown san francisco. north bay temperatures, just a little bit warmer. we get a light offshore wind, 72 in santa rosa. napa valley coming in at 72. 67 in hayward. east bay locations will also be in the upper 60s and low 70s. monterey bay, 65.
