girl are dead after trying to crash this bridge. a second child was put to safety. in south carolina the rescue temple church collapsed while people were inside. they say god was watching out for. the. >> alan: in the bay area, giants fan bryan stow has suffered a set back in his recovery. doctors had to put him back into a medically induced coma yesterday after having several seed ours his surgeon decided to bring him out of his medically induced coma on friday. espn spoke to his parents today. >> bryan's supervisor called and said bryan had been involved in a fight at dodger stadium. a lot of bad -- throwing stuff together making airline regs reservations. we did not know the extent of his injuries. we were talking to his friend that was with him the whole

time, and cory shared some information. we couldn't get a flight until 7:00 friday. weyear just praying, hold on bryan, we're coming. did not have any information until we got to the hospital and then we were hit with the brain injury. >> alan: doctors say they will be monitoring stows' condition. san leandro police are investigating a shooting outside a restaurant that left one man in critical condition. police say a 22-year-old man was? the parking lot with his girlfriend when her ex-boyfriend confronted them. >> he had been eating inside of the restaurant. shortly after he exited, carrying his food, he was approached by the unknown assailant, and altercation took place, and the asill l -- assailant shot the victim several times. >> alan: police don't know the motive for the shooting. the suspect has been arrested.

the victim is listed in critical condition. >> transportation secretary layla hood says new rules are being put into place to keep traffic travelers from snoozing on the job. another air traffic controller was suspended for falling asleep at work. the seventh incident since the start of the year. the faa admitted chronic fa teal -- fatigue is a problem for controllers. >> we cannot allow controllers to follow asleep in towers and we have taken steps as of this morning to begin changing schedules for controllers to change schedules for managers. >> alan: the new rules give controllers at least nine hours off between shifted compared to the current eight hours. the faa does not allow controllers to sleep at work even during breaks but that could change.

california's rally in support of community colleges and students. and rapper mc hammer led this afternoon's hands across america event. hammer was a student at laney college in his early years. organizers hope their efforts will help increase sharp -- scholarship funding. >> there's 112 community colleges in the system and we have every one participating today or having preevents today. they happened throughout the month, raise awareness. >> alan: potential fee increases could make it unaffordable for many students attending community college. after three years without a real salmon catch commercial fishermen are hoping this year puts them back in business. the season is just two weeks away but they already have concerns about what may be in
