proposed cuts to their healthcare benefits is now entering its fourth day. the mother's day brunch is 11:00 to 1:00 this afternoon. they are using this occasion to rally support for stalled contracted negotiations who which are now before a federal mediator. since the strike begin last thursday, hospital administrators have brought in temporary non-union employees. they are covering essential services. the strike is scheduled to end tomorrow. police in fairfield are investigating a shooting that left three people dead inside a home. police responded to a call of shots fired yesterday afternoon on venus drive. inside the house they found a man and his ex-wife shot to death. they also found the suspected shooter, a roommate in the home dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. neighbors say five people lived in the house, an elderly man who was being cared for by his son,

the son's ex-wife, the ex-wife's boyfriend a roommate. >> there were five people that were living there. the older gentleman was being taken care of by the son. >> somebody saw it and they are just not used to this. >> the woman's boyfriend was taken away in handcuffs. police are trying to figure out what caused that shooting. officers say they have been called to the home several times for domestic disputes. >> san jose police are investigating a shooting that left two men dead and a teenager in the hospital. police say it happened early yesterday morning inside a home in the 3400 block of mount prieta drive. several men were drinking at the house before the incident. two 31-year-old men were pronounced dead at the scene. a boy was taken to the hospital

here is a report from memphis where some areas are already underwater. >> for southern illinois to the gulf of mexico more than 4 million people live in the area next to the mississippi, from now until the end of may, most of them will be watching the rising river. all weekend long, authorities from arkansas to tennessee have been urging families to leave their homes because the river is coming. >> the river is now expected to crest in memphis at 48 pete feet on monday, two days earlier than they first thought. >> it is raining again. >> i'm thinking halfway to that window before its over. >> they listen to authorities and evacuated before several feet of water poured into this neighborhood. >> another week and a half, at least a week and a half. >> his mother refuses to leave. the family has tried to convince her. the grandson he has tried, too.

weakenedened ray by rain is still on hold. part of wyman street started sliding during heavy rains this winter. the city wants to be released for you'll liability during repairs but six of seven of the homeowners are refusing to sign off on that. city leaders want to avoid any financial risk from potential lawsuits. the proposed temporary fix will cost at least $100,000. yesterday, in the mission district, police closed off mission street between 20th and 21st due to concerns that that metal sign on the tower theater might just snap off. you can see where they tried to secure the sign with cord to make sure that pieces didn't fly off in the wind. >> it was pretty windy this morning. has it subsided at all?

most areas are looking at the winds gusting over 20 miles an hour from the airport, novato, oakland, concord and livermore and not far behind we're looking at breezy winds here, mountain view and hayward. we will see a cool and windy day for mother's day. the skies will be partly cloudy it's going to look a little better out there. tomorrow it's going to feel better because the winds will slack off and we'll see slightly warmer weather few degrees warmer tuesday and wednesday. not looking for a big temperature swing this week. in fact, the struggling to get out of the 50s downtown. most numbers will be as much as 10 degrees below the average. widespread 60s and winds continue to pick up throughout the day and evening hours. that is because we've got a cold trough, pretty strong storm system bringing moisture. a little bit of snow in the sierra nevada but really the cold air throughout much of the

they pressurize it much higher than the pipe would ever operate with natural gas. pipeline is being watched closely for eight hours. any sections of pipe that show weakness would be immediately replace. residents might spell the odor of natural gas as it comes into the atmosphere before testing begins. this follows that disaster in san bruno last september when a section of gas pipeline ruptured causing an explosion and fire that killed eight people and destroyed dozens of homes. your power bill is about to go up. pg&e is customers will pay more to help cover losses associated with new smart meters. regulators have approved to cover the losses from replacing the old analog meters. >> by a vote 3-1 the california puc granted pg&e's request for a rate increase to cover losses the company took because they

had to tear out the existing analog meters and replace them with a new digital smartmeter. >> this commission has spoiled pg&e again and again allowing them to make huge profits off of customers. now, we have them saying, sure we'll profit off your garbage. >> he voted for the increase because he says it's not profit. >> the meters are now being replaced, it's capital investment. it's at a much reduced rate. >> on average bill of $90 increase will be 9 cents. electric rate increase goes into effect in january. gas rights will increase 2.4% effective june 1st. commission still has to decide on pg&e's request to change the sliding scale that gives lower rates to those that conserve. so the more you use the more you

christmas day when the tiger leaped out and attacked three young men, carlos was killed two. two others were injured. officers shot and killed the tiger that night. an investigation revealed that grotto's walls were lower than recommendations. five years ago a tiger keeper was seriously injured when the tiger attacked her. >> we had our closure. we are here because we believe in endangered species and conservation. >> this is where martha will live. zoo has no qualms to public safety. the walls have been raised ten and a half feet higher. warning signs have been posted. when martha arrives here she will be quarantined for a while. >> we'll keep an eye on her but
