san francisco. >> the pittsburg to san frearps airport trains will have to share the remaining track through the transbay tube. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. riders will hopefully only by inconvenienced this weekend. it may be a delay of anywhere near 40 minutes. caltrans says this won't be anything like the s-curve work done. this won't inconvenience drivers that much nor surprise them as much as that work did. abc-7 news. >> alan: another concern for your commute tonight, all this rain that's coming down right now. meteorologist. >> leigh: leg has more on that. >> leigh: we had a swath of moisture across the bay area. live doppler 7hd showing that. here is where most or the brunt of this moisture feed has moved on through, heading towards the

sacramento valley. you can see some of the clearing taking place in santa rosa and points north. you can see at mill valley, some rain, south san francisco, berkeley. concord right now, reporting light rain, and heavier rain in the last few hours in the richmond area, and to the east of milpitas, very heavy downpour moved through, and picking up some rain on page mill road and down toward morgan hill and watsonville. the brunt of this has passed towards the east of the bay area. we still have a few lingering showers tonight. we'll look ahead toward the rest of the holiday weekend coming up. >> alan: the family of a man who tied after an officer-involved shooting in oakland this month is demanding answers. lisa amin gulezian spoke with family members today who say they're considering taking the oakland police department to

court. >> only thing i know is my brother is dead. >> lisa: brandy johnson misses her younger brother, john sloan. we has shot and killed in east oakland. that me, antoine jackson, and a third up identified man were stopped by oakland police, and a press release, police explained they received a tip that a, quote, violent crime was going to take place in the area. police insist when they stopped these men they were armed and confrontational. moments later police shot antoine jackson in the side while he sat in the driver's seat, and john sloan in the back of the head when he ran. the third man was arrested. >> they killed a bunch of guys -- two guys they don't even know the reason for, because usually cops have an answer for what they're doing. if there were guns like they say, they're going to leave the guns on the ground. >> when they do it, no

repercussion, nothing to be said. how can you have family out here, not going to say nothing to the family how you murdered their child? >> two people are killed under very questionable circumstances. >> an attorney is representing antoine jackson's family and may take the sloan case as well. buris says there's no evidence either man was armed, though two guns were found on a rooftop nearby. >> when you have a situation where two people are shot, and an oblique story is given about one man being armed and another man may or may not have been armed. that doesn't mean you get to shoot them. >> lisa: both men had a criminal past. police would not return our phone calls or requests for an update or comment. lisa amin gulezian, abc-7 news. >> alan: san jose police need your help in fining the person who stabbed an 18-year-old man to death this morning. it happened around 4:00 near king road on the east side of

san jose. the victim's name has not been released, and detectives still don't know what the motive is behind the tabbings. this is san jose's 21st 21st homicide of the year, which is more than the total number of years for all of last year. this morning's stabbing took place two locks away from a wednesday night shooting. >> firefighters credit seat belts with saving four lives in an early morning crash on highway 24 in orinda. rescuers found this crumpled car just after 4:00 a.m. they used the jaws of life to free all four people from the wreckage. three of them suffered very serious injuries. the chp says it was slow low car accident, and they still dope know what caused it. >> thousands of scouts and other volunteers continued a memorial day tradition that dates back more than 50 years. >> there you go. >> alan: they spent their

morning placing american flags at each of the 138,000 graves at san bruno's can golden gate natl cemetery. it's the final resting place for several medal of honor winners, and a congressman, and admiral chester nimitz. >> it's just a really nice way to honor all the people who fought for our country, because they're heroes, too, but don't get recognized as much. >> alan: flags fly at veterans cemeteries across america. current members of the military took part in flags-in day. in arlington national cemetery. >> higher gas prices are forcing some people to spend memorial day closer to home. even a simple backyard cookout is costing us more this holiday weekend, 29% more to be exact. just about every staple of the memorial day feast costs more than last year.

the u.s. -- ground beef is up 12's. a tomato will cost you 86% more. people in the bay area say they've noticed the price increased and it's changed their shopping habits. >> definite if you like meats and veggies in the goes riz, going into the local butcher so wasn't do bad. >> alan: a modest barbecue for a dozen people costs $45 more compared to last year. >> the california highway patrol is reporting fewer dui related arrests last nothing during the memorial day weekend maximum enforcement period compared to last year. memorial day weekend is typically the time when the chp begins its dui crackdown. they arrested 402 people statewide for driving under the influence during the holiday. that number is slightly down

>> closed captioning brought to >> closed captioning brought to >> alan: everyone on board this delta airlines jet escaped save of safely after a fire broke out after it landed in atlanta. the faa suspects the fire started in the right landing gear of the plane. they had just landed from pittsburgh. firefighters put the fire out in a minute by spraying foam on the flames. four people were treated and released at the scene after suffering minor injuries. egypt lifted a four-year-old block okayed at the gaza strip, resulting in an easing of travel restrictions for nearly 1.5 million residents of the palestinian territory. some warned the re-opening will make it easier for militants and weapons to be smuggled into the territory, something israel has been trying to stop. hundreds of gazans piled into

>> alan: the death toll from last week's devastating tornado in missouri stands at 142. 520 people have been killed this year by tornadoes, making it the deadliest year for toward since 1950. the number of people still unaccounted for is now at 105. 600 volunteers and 50 dog teams continue to search through the debris for bodies and survivors. tomorrow, president obama will travel to joplin to survey the damage and talk to residents there. at lake tahoe, it looks and feels a lot more like winter than it does on this unofficial beginning of the summer. this is a live look from heavenly row -- resort tonight. heaply and squaw valley often

operate on memorial day weekend but this you're they're using more lifts than usual. they reported nearly three feet of fresh snow, on top of a 14-foot base. let's go to leigh glaser. this is crazy. >> leigh: it is crazy. live doppler 7hd picking up on the snow right now at lake tahoe. truckee, it's snowing, 32 degrees. south lake tahoe, the snow is moving in nevada city, and auburn, moderate rain. we, too, in the rain cycle, as area of low pressure is kicking in, really starting to move the moisture across the bay area. you can see the clearing taking place. santa rosa, most of the rain is just about over. daly city, berkeley, moderate rain, concord, ben nearby -- benecia, and saratoga reporting rain, watsonville, and morgan hill. this will be the end of it.

we may still have some mist and drizzle around overnight tonight. behind this the wind is going to pick up, with gusts up to 30 miles-per-hour, and we'll keep the wind in our forecast tomorrow, bring in a little bit more sunshine, and the clouds will return for memorial day on monday. this is the trough, the kicker area of low pressure, all of this pushing towards the east. tomorrow everything is going to sag south. we'll look for a dryer day, and going to bring us a cooler air mass, and gusty winds, northwesterly at 20 to 30 miles-per-hour. in the high country, winter weather advisory until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. close to nine inches of additional new snow at the 7,000-foot level. near lake level, two to three inches, and chain controls are possible. by sunday afternoon, you should
