has found a new home. viewers helped the center which cares for orphan animals but more help is still needed. >> the wildlife center has been rescuing orphans and injured animals for the last ten years. it's the only rescue center of its kind in the oakland area. the last resorted for wild animals who have been hit by cars attacked by dogs or lost their mothers. as we first told you last summer the animals are being evicted the landlord has other plans for the property. volunteers searched desperately for another home and they are finally getting one. >> this one right here is going to be the infirmary to keep them in cages. >> this is the beginning of the new wildlife center a few blocks from the old center in the oakland hills. the labor is all volunteer. >> baby squirrels that come in.

>> money came in grant and $15,000 in donations from people who learned about the center's plight from the media. >> i can get up close with the animals and have an impact on wildlife. >> the cofounder and director volunteers as many 70 hours a week herself. she is thrilled by the public response. >> it's just an incredible thank you to the community for coming forward with help. >> there is a lot to be done. >> you can't just throw anything under a truck. we have animals we need to move and in order to do that we have to have a place secure for them. >> the center is under pressure to move as fast as possible. the indoor part of the new facility is well underway but outside they need to build large pens on a steep hillside. a natural feeling enclosure is critical for animals that eventually will be released back into the wild. >> unfortunately we ran out of

funding. we're going to have to start a new campaign to raise some funds and find construction workers that can help with us that stage of the project. >> in the meantime nature is not waiting for moving day. >> babies are being born right now. >> these are some of the new spring babies that need help. the wildlife center has never turned away an injured animal. that is what keeps volunteers like john sweeney coming back. he started helping out after he found an injured animal. >> they take in wildlife, there are no other places around. it's great to see them get good care and get back to living a good life. >> dan ashley "abc 7 news." >> still ahead the bay area couple that met while working for the c.i.a. >> knock-knock who is there?
