goodbye, jim, and bye, my beautiful children. >> in oakland, abc-7 news. >> alan: the chp's crackdown on drunk drivers continues tonight. the dui and traffic deaths are down this weekend. chp officers arrested 897 drivers from friday evening through 6:00 a.m. this morning. last year at the same time the chp made 1,029 dui arrests. statewide traffic deaths over the holiday weekend are also down this year, from seven in 2010 to just one so far this holiday. the chp will continue its maximum enforcement effort through midnight tomorrow. high winds and lightning passed through the chicago area, causing flight cancellations. flights are delayed up to three hours, including many heading to san francisco. the national weather service issued a severe thunderstorm warning today for most of the

chicago area. and if you're taking public transit over the holiday weekend, you can expect some schedule changes and possible delays. b.a.r.t. says you could see delays of 20 to 40 minutes tomorrow when the transit agency shuts down one of the two tracks in the transbay tube to perform maintenance and repair work. after the last train tonight, the track will be closed through 2:30 monday afternoon. most public transit service in the bay area will be operating on a sunday schedule tomorrow due to the holiday. an underground transformer fire knocked out power along the embarcadero this morning in front of pier 3. the fire department sent carbon dioxide specialists to the scene. no one was hurt. >> the president makes a pledge to the peep of john -- people of john linn, missouri. >> it's a national tragedy and
