to have been started by a campfire. it could cost hundreds of millions to fight and burning since memorial day and is only about 20% contained. also new the forest service is questioning two people. >> what we've pretty much broken it down to is it looks like it was a campfire, and we've got a couple of people of interest that we're talking to on that right now. >> we're expected to learn more about those two people later today. the 733-square-mile fire destroyed 32 homes still closing in on luna, new mexico. and this morning, there is an increasing number of republicans seeking the white house. the newest used to work in the obama administration and there is also word about a big state governor. john hendren is monitoring the developments from washington. good morning, john. >> reporter: good morning, peggy. good morning, daniel. president obama was the first president to visit puerto rico sincele john f. kennedy and while he was there a former utah governor who just happens to be

limit on that he won't even say he'll announce within the next month but he has already started attacking democrats. he said of anthony weiner, the congressman who has a lewd photos problem, he is one sick fella. peggy? >> all right, john hendren live from washington, thanks, john. overseas to pakistan this morning where some residents who helped the cia find osama bin laden have been arrested. among those taken into custody by pakistani agents is the owner of a safe house rented by the cia to observe bin laden's compound. a pakistani army major was also taken into custody. what's next for those arrested isn't known. amtrak is implementing new high-tech security measures after osama bin laden's journals revealed plans to attack america's rail system. the head of amtrak's police force told congress they're working with the tsa and other agencies to improve security equipment. and reinforce employee awareness programs but says the system will remain free and open. in iowa a rail disaster may

have been averted thanked to a sharp eyed worker. someone tampers with a switch box hoping to derail a train. they notified authorities. in southern louisiana a dramatic fiery scene. take a look at this chemical plant burning after a series of explosions. now, they don't know what caused the blast just yet but the plant's entire staff was accounted for. nobody so far was injured. a dozen people were kept from their hopes overnight and now expected to be allowed back in today. so remember all those labor protests in wisconsin's state capital? they were out in force as the supreme court up held that law. the high court's decision gives scott walker a major victory. in new york, the right to same-sex marriage is just one vote away, and it is a cliffhanger. the state assembly already okayed it bow now it's tied in the senate. supporters have until the end of the legislative session to get

months. the government's retail sales report is out yesterday. it was better than expected. in fact, it showed retail sales only down 0.2% last month. and if you don't count auto sales, retail sales then were actually up. experts fear it was just a one-day wonder, however, because the dow rose 123 points to climb back above 12,000. the nasdaq index was up 39. in today's trading, tokyo's nikkei average gained 26.5 points. hong kong's hang seng is slightly lower and in london the ftse opened lower too. jcpenney stocks skyrocketed 17% yesterday helped by news that did hired the head of apple's stores to be its next ceo. ron johnson is credited with masterminding apple's successful move into operating its own retail stores. jcpenney hopes he can work his magic for them. aerospace and defense contractor lockheed martin plans to cut almost 8% of its space equipment workforce. that's about 1,200 jobs. the move comes after cuts in the

kills one person every hour. >> so now the fda has new regulations for sunscreens. lisa stark has the details. >> reporter: all these years we have been slathering on the sunscreen with all those confusing labels, spf 15, spf 50, waterproof, water resistant. we've been thinking we're protecting ourselves and, more importantly, our children. >> people were getting a false sense of security with sunscreens the way they were. >> reporter: a troubling thing has happened. despite the explosion of sales of sunscreens, there's also been an explosion of skin cancer. cases of the most deadly kind of skin cancer, melanoma, increased 45% between 1992 and 2004, and it's showing up in young people. >> melanoma used to be a disease of older men. now melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults in their late 20s. >> reporter: so what does this all have to do with sun block? it turns out you may have only been getting half the protection

you need. here is why. the sun has two kinds of harmful rays. the government only requires that sun block protect from uvb rays. that's the spf number. uvb rays can burn the surface of your skin. but just as dangerous, uva rays, they penetrate the skin down to the cells that can become cancerous. there is no requirement that your sun block have ingredients needed to guard against uva rays. starting next summer sunscreen must have an spf of at least 15 and offer protection from both uva and uvb rays to claim it helps prevent cancer and aging. once more, sunscreenmakers will no longer be able to claim their products are waterproof or sweatproof. there's no such thing. lisa stark, abc news, washington. a lot of new information. well, you can find out which sunscreens already meet the new standards at abcnews.com and also coming up on "good morning america," medical editor dr. richard besser weighs in.

chocolate milk is officially off the menu in los angeles public schools. the school board eliminated it in order to combat childhood obesity. the district, second only in new york in size is the biggest in the country to ban flavored milk. new information this morning about who is living and for how long here in the u.s. life expectancy in our country is now at 78 years plus 2 months and that is an all-time high. so where are people living the longest? well, the longest living women are in collier county, florida, and they are about 86 years old on average, and for men, it's fairfax county, virginia, where the average age is just over 81 years. the housekeeper who has a 14-year-old son with arnold schwarzenegger is no longer keeping a low profile. mildred baena held her first interview telling "hello" magazine that maria shriver asked her point blank if the boy was schwarzenegger's son. she said shriver reacted by crying and holder her.
