>> alan: good evening, everyone. thousands of people filled the streets today for san francisco's 41st annual gay pride parade. the parade punctuates a week of festivals, and we're live at civic center plaza. >> you can hear them and -- well, you can see them, too. started at 10:30 this morning, and it's still going on. if if there was a day in san francisco where just about anything goes, this is it.

closed or not. on a slope. or on a bike. >> dancing, or just plain watching. the 41st annual gay pride parade in all its feathered and rain bow glory. it comes with a serious theme. this year's message, no bullying, and many people here well-they heard that message years earlier. >> to grow up not knowing any other gay person, and without a sense of sexual identity at all of the possibilities, it would have helped me enormously. >> just have to power through it, be true to yourself and keep going on. it will get better. >> reporter: while politicians were out in force, the parade celebrity grand marshal, saturday bone know, won over the crowd. but this celebration was even

went beyond floats and included wedding plans. parade organizers say half a million people participated in today's march. an organizers have had to repair dozens of fleets -- floats before the start of chicago's gay pride parade. police received reports of slashed tires, and officials record two-thirds of the floats were damaged. but the event went on as scheduled. >> the death toll now stands at six in friday's amtrak train crash. investigators are on the scene and fear more victims may be found inside the charred train. among those who died is the train conductar, 68-year-old low rate a lee. she is originally from concord,

the assistant inning nor on the train was injured. his niece says he is expected to come home from the hospital in a couple of days. >> he was close to the impact. so i guess she wasn't -- was in the train where it was hit. >> alan: 20 people were injured when a truck slammed into the amtrak treason in a nevada desert. investigators say skidmarks shied the truck driver tried to stop before crashing into the train. the nevada trucking company he worked for has been repeatedly cited for crashes and unsafe driving in a january inspection, authorities found tires on one truck so bald the rig was deemed an imminent hard to public safety. >> a second patient has died after a car crashed into a san jose nursing home. 100-year-old suzann infant day died from her injures. the crash also killed another

women, a resident at the home. five other patients were hurt. police believe the 90-year-old driver hit the al sell -- accelerator before crashing into the building. grief counselors met it to with residents and staff. >> the mother of a young man arrested for refusing to pull his pants up on board a usairways flight spoke to jones methodist church in san francisco today. donna doyle talked about the incident in which her 20-year-old son was arrested after he did not immediately pull up his pants as flight attendants requested. the naacp called usairways' actions racist and ising a the airline to apologize. doyle also criticized the sheriff's deputies who scotted her son off the plane, who says got physical with them. she is thankful the cal altercation did not and late. >> look at oscar grant. i have my son, i'm here to talk

and speak for him. so i give praise to god for that >> alan: usairways released a statement saying he was arrested for refews to comply with crew member instructs. >> danville's creekside community church will hold a prayer meeting for a local teenager tonight. he is in critical condition after a sand tunnel crashed on him at sunset beach in watsonville. he was buried head first in six feet or sand for 15 minutes before he was dug out. an air ambulance rushed him to valley medical center in san jose. a second teenager was pulled out from a foot of sand and has been released from the hospital. two teenage ares are facing charges in connection with a running gun bat until san francisco that injured five people. investigators say four of those victims were innocent bystanders

caught in the crossfire. all are expected to survive. it happened at market and jones street near u.n. plaza. police arrested an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old in what is believed to be a gang-related shooting with no connection to the pride celebrations going on in the area. more than 500 volunteers will hit the streets of santa clara county at down to count the -- at dawn to count the number of homeless people. they're creating a rental registry. the city of san jose and several homeless advocate groups started the campaign to get 1,000 chronically homeless people into shelters. there are 7,000 homeless people in santa clara county. >> the justice department is investigating the nation's largest home improvement retailer. why home depot is accuse it of

>> alan: the u.s. department of justice is investigating home depot for possible violation of the buy american act. a san francisco attorney filed a lawsuit against home depot claiming the company provides chinese-made products in

violation of the act. then 1933 law is aimed at protecting u.s. jobs. it requires that all materials used in construction of public projects originate in the united states or designated countries. home depot is accused of providing chinese-made products to government customers. a company spokesman says home depot, quote, would never knowingly sell prohibited goods under any circumstances. president obama will meet separately with demcat crack and republican senate leaders to find common ground in the debate over raising the nation's debt ceiling. their goal is to jump start talks that broke down last week when republicans walked away from the bar -- bargaining table. democrats want to increase the number of money the government canny to pay pills. the republicans want less money. >> the whole business of raising taxes, regardless how you do it,

at the races in sonoma county today. the event called "tickets for troops "was held at infineon raceway. the toyota/save mart 350, which featured some of the biggest names in nascar, including jeff gordon, and dale earnhardt, jr., and pg&e partnered with the uso to provide the free tickets. >> give a little back to them, these guys can give as much as you can give to our country, and to their branch of service, and so when we can do just a little something like this, it feels real good. >> alan: today's race featured an air show and a military flyover. the next tickets for troops will be in august for the indy grand prix at infineon raceway and it looked really nice out there. >> leigh: beautiful. temperatures there 80 degrees, on the track, about 500 degrees!

we're going to do one more nice day and then clouds thinken up, and allen and i have been talking about this. yes, it looks like parts of the bay area will see some late-season showers as we head into tuesday. this is a nice shot here from our high definition peak cam looking west towards san francisco there. some low clouds starting to venture in, but it's hot inland. antioch, 88. concord, 85. all numbers came up a few more degrees today. san rafael, 79. 61 in san francisco. and 80 in los gatos. here's a look at the highlights. clear inland overnight. keep just a little bit of patchy fog near the coast. another sunny, mild day tomorrow, and then thickening clouds monday night. showers return to the bay area on tuesday. you can see as the high moves in overnight last night, helped to then out the low clouds and fog near the cost.

so lots of sunshine for the entire bay area today. some of the fog may sneak back in near the coast so we'll keep it there overnight tonight, but temperature-wise 53 for san francisco, 54 for livermore, and 55 for san jose with some clear skies. high pressure suppressing the air and actually thinning out the low clouds to fog today. do it again tomorrow. check out what is upstream. a late-season cold front. and pretty strong one for this time of year, and this is going to bring showers to us on tuesday. and i'm going to go ahead and fast-forward the forecast model here to 11:00 tomorrow, and you can see clear skies. but look what happens tomorrow night. 11:00. clouds start to thicken up. may see a little mist and trizle off the court. then 9:00 a.m. tuesday morning, and then 5:00 commute time tuesday afternoon, much of the bay area will see some light
