at the alameda county fair. the temperatures were just right. it was a similar scene in san francisco at the fillmore jazz fess -- festival. here's what it looks like outside in san francisco. the fog rolling in a bit. the high temperatures are affecting our air quality. we're under a "spare the air" alert for tomorrow. the bay area air quality management district is expecting unhealthy conditions. officials would like you to limit your time on the road over the fourth of july holiday weekend if you're planning on driving. >> weather was warm today. tomorrow it's going to get hot. meteorologist leigh glaser is here with what you can expect. >> leigh: here's a look at highs for today. kept some fog near the coast thanks to the northerly winds. so banked up there. half moon bay, the high, 66. san francisco only managed 66. look at inland locations. it was hot. it was dry.

antioch, 98 today. 98 for livermore. concord, your high was 95. 93 in napa. 98 in gilroy. 87 in san jose. these numbers will come up another five or six degrees, and that has prompted a heat advisory for tomorrow. beginning at noon, until 9:00. temperatures inland out towards the del ca, -- delta, livermore, concord, as high as 104 degrees. the only location where we will not see the heat advisory is right near the coast. we'll run through the expected highs for tomorrow coming up. >> john: one of the joys of living in northern california, warm temperatures in the bay area and perfect skiing conditions in the sierra. this is the first time in yearly two decades they're skiing on the july 4th weekend. they're on the slopes in shorts, bikini tops, hawaiian shirts.

squaw valley is en. they're taking advantage of the snow and the high pressure system that is bringing warm air to the sierra. >> more bay area cities are foregoing a fireworks show this year because of budget problems. only berkeley and san pablo will light up the sky this year. livermore and hercules scrapped their fireworks and parades other. places, like foster city, have scaled down their shows or started charging visitors to see them. officials say a 20 minute show can cost between 15,000 and $20,000. that combined with the extra police and firefighters on duty, it can amount to a hefty price tag. police in oakland are investigating two deadly shootings overnight. the first one happened around 10:15 last night. another fatal shooting was reported this morning around 1:00 a.m. on the 5700 block of international boulevard.

less than a mile from the first shooting. there's no information about suspects in either case. the search is continuing for a small plane that crashed and sank in richardson bay near sausolito. this is video of the hydroplane attempting to take off yesterday. you can see the plane starting to take off, and then it hits a wake. it's flipped. nose first into richardson bay. a passing boat rescued the passengers onboard. they're okay. a private company was at the scene today trying to recover the wreckage. dives have not found it. they say the hydroplane did not have enough fuel on it to cause an environmental concern in the bay. investigators will use dna testing to identify what they believe is the sixth and final victim of the amtrak crash in the nevada desert. federal investigators are expected to wrap up work at the scene next week. they're trying to determine why the truck driver slammed into the emeryville bound amtrak

train at a crossing 70 miles east of reno. he and five other people on the train were killed and 20 were injured in the accident that took place on june 245th -- 24th. >> two people charged with blocking installation of pg&e smart meters. this is youtube video of the arrest yesterday. the protestors are affiliated with the stop smart meters group which has concerns about the safety and privacy of the meters. they were charged with obstruction and released. pg&e say customers can delay using smart meters. the utility would still install the readers, but a meter still has to come out to the house. responding to the protestors complaints, pg&e says it does not hire unlicensed contractors to install smart meters. the fourth of july weekend
