this comes as we're hearing for the first time from a juror in the casese. john hendren is joining us now from washington with the latest. good morning, john. >> reporter: good morning, peggy. good morning, dani. jurors tell abc news with no cause of death, no murder weapon and no motive, there was just something missing from the prosecutor's case. casey anthony's lawyer says the first verdict was the sweetest. >> really the happiest moment came after the first not guilty because i knew i had saved her life. >> reporter: but in another exclusive interview with abc news, juror number three says the case does not remove all suspicion. >> not guilty doesn't mean innocent. it doesn't mean innocent. >> reporter: jennifer ford says there were too many unanswered questions. question number one, how did little caylee die? >> how can you punish someone for something if you don't know what they did? >> reporter: in the 31 days casey waited to report her daughter missing, why? >> it looks very bad. the behavior is bad but bad behavior is not enough to prove a crime. >> reporter: in the end this

single nursing student says prosecutors failed to prove casey killed her daughter. that lingering question could dog her all her life among many americans unjustly jose baez told barbara walters in that exclusive interview. >> they think she's a monster. they think she is a cold-hearted killer, and nothing could be further from the truth. >> reporter: that hasn't stopped casey dreaming of becoming a mother again. in letters from jail s s said "i had a dream not too long ago that i was pregnant. i've thought about adopting. there are so many children that deserve to be loved." casey's legal ordeal isn't over. that nanan she says kidnapped the child, a woman with the same name is suing casey for defamation, and if she has to testify in that case, she cannot choose not to talk. daniel and peggy? >> and, john, depending what happens today in the courtroom, what is s xt for this woman? >> reporter: well, after sentencing, of course, she could be freed on bail and then come the offers. remember, there is nothing stopping her since she was declared not guilty from profiting on the ordeal.

and for the first time, g toent tackle the rising cost of social security. it's been more than six days since the minnesota government shut down. in a dispute between its democratic and governor and republican lawmakers over the state's $5 million budget gap still have not been resolved. meanwhile, the state is hemorrhaging revenue from m osed parks and toll booths and they're operating with minimal staffing meaning the loss of income for thousands of state employees. the battle to overturn don't ask, don't tell has had another victory today. a federal appeals court has ordered the u.s. government to immediately stop enforcing the policy. don't ask, don't tell was officially repealed in december, but it was held up in appeals court. now, the latest ruling means that the military can't discharge any service members on the basis of their sexual orientation. the families of seven americans missing after a fishing boat capsized off the mexican coast are urging the coast guard not to give up looking for survivors even though the search window has already expired. relatives are insisting that favorable weather conditions mean it's possible their loved

ones may still be alive. they've launched a facebook page "find our fathers" and paypal account to raise donations to extend the search effort. seven people are hurt after a gunman opened fire outside a las vegas funeral home. police say that the shooter had been mingling with the crowd after a funeral service when he pulled a gun and started firing. none of the injuries appears to be life-threatening. oil from a ruptured pipeline beneath the yellowstone river has reached as far ass 80 miles downstream as workers in montana clean up the 42,000 gallons of oil. we now know that exxonmobil took nearly an hour to seal off the pipeline, nearly twice as long as it initially reported. the leading theory on friday night's rupture, the riverbed exposed the line to damaging rocks and debris. >> we are just a little more than 24 hours away from the final liftoff of the space shuttle program. end of an era.

overseas markets are mixed following an interest rate hike in china. tokyo's nikkei average was off about 11 points today. hong kong's hang seng is about 100 points higher. and in london, the ftse opened lower. on wall street the dow gained 56 points yesterday. the nasdaq index rose just 8. there is a newewata breach reported.

morgan stanley smith barney mailed two cds with permanent information about 34,000 clients to the new york state tax department. the package arrived but then the cdcddisappeared. there's no evidence of wrongdoing. well, the auto industry is hiring again and at a much faster rate than the rest of the economy and that's because sales are rising and the automakers are adding shifts to meet the demand. also, foreign automakers are finding it cheaper to build their cars here than import them. well, it's too soon to write off cash, but the treasury department is printing less paper money because more and more purchases are being made with plastic. in fact, last year the government didn't print any $10 bills at all, however, most americans still like to keep a little cash on hand. it comes in handy with tips. here is a reverse of the modern trend. more are paying for music again. sales up 8.5% in the first half of the year increased by albums such as adele's "21." also, it's not just singles that are selling. album sales rose for the first time in seven years.

and there is a new thriller over part of michael jackson's estate.
