ey're not sure about the location, whether it was 60th 60th avenue and international or 60th and macarthur and don't have any eye witnesses to she shooting. the only people they have who have given them information is the family and the family was at the hospital with the child easterly yes. now, the family were the ones who took the child to the hospital to get medical attention, and there they were interviewed by police, attempting to find out exactly when and how and where this happened. again, the family was being interviewed. they're still talking to police and police are trying to figure out who the shooter was. they detained a car that had bullet holes in it and they stopped individuals and found a weapon. this is an interview with officer jay mitchell regarding the people they stopped. >> now we have persons of interest involved in this case

and we're now taking care of this investigation. >> now again, this happened around 3:15. the family took the child to the hospital. the shot went through and through the child's arm. it's not life-threatening. they may actually have the shooter in custody. reporting live, abc-7 news. >> alan: now, that shooting was just blocks away from where three-year-old car loss nava was shot and killed two weeks ago little by was caught in the cross-fire of a drive-by shooting. >> richmond police need your help in their search for a hit-and-run driver who killed man early this morning. the victim died after being struck at 13th street at 12:30 this morning. officers found a vehicle that re resembles the one involved in

the accident nearby but it's unclear if it's connected to the case. the police are identifying the victim as 39-year-old darrell fuller. anyone with information is being asked to call the richmond employed. >> a five-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by a hit-and-run driver. he was crossing the street at silver avenue near elmira street when he was struck after running ahead of his parents. he was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries and the car is described as a 80 sr. model green hatchback. >> the two uc berkeley graduates imprisoned in iran have been found guilty. shane beauer and josh fattal was sentenced to eight years in prison. sergio can ch -- cantana is here. >> this case has stretched on.

we're learning this information from the state news agency in iran, not from the judge who oversaw their trial. and second this decision comes several weeks after their trial ended. >> for people who have been following this case word of a possible eight year sentence for shane beauer and josh fattal actually raise more questions than it answer. ken light was shane bauer's photographer professor at uc berkeley. >> it's hard to know, what does it mean and is it really a sentence. i understand it can be appeales. could they be released. >> steven is the chair of middle east of the'm area. >> it's possible this news leak to one media source may have been a way to buy some of the hardliners to encourage this verdict when in fact the verdict may not have officially been made yet.

>> the two men were tried in an iranian court this year. accused of spying for the united states. but iranian experts like this professor say their sentence has been an issue of contention between faction within iran. the u.s. government has been limited in its ability to intervene in this case because there have been no diplomatic relation with iran since 1979. but u.s. state department spokeswoman issued a start statement saying, we have repeatedly called for the release of shane beauer and joshua fattal who have been held for two years. beauer and fattal were first arrested in july of 2009 on the iran-iraq border with their friend, sara shourd. all three have consistently said they were tourists. for those who have been following this case they're still holding out hope. >> my reaction to the news that

there is a sentence is, of course upsetting. i think we still all hope that somehow with the holidays in iran right now that there will be a way for them to be released. >> professor light says he is hoping iranian authorities release bauer and fattal as an expression of mercy during thethe ramadan holiday. the family is not commenting. >> alan: it's been almost three months since she disappeared but the family and friends of missing nursing student michelle le have not given up. today's search marks the seventh time volunteers have look it for leez le since she vanished on may 27. she was least seen going to her car in a parking garage. the police found her car in another part of hayward.

fire crews are on the scene of a brush fire in marin county near fairfax. the flames are creating a thick plume of smoke and people from as far away as novato are reporting seeing the smoke. there's no word just yet on the cause of the fire. flash floods claimed four lives in pennsylvania. heavy rain fall overwhelmed pipes in pittsburgh, blowing off manhole covers and sending geysers into the air. the flood waters were powerful enough to float a dump truck. >> the next thing i know the water is up to the middle of my door, and you just see a red dump truck.

floating. >> water started coming in my doors and i knew i was in trouble. 9-1-1 said try to swim for it. by it was well over my head. >> alan: a woman and two children died when they were trapped in their car. the body of another woman was found earlier today. utah police are searching the rugged mountains near ely, nevada, as part of a renewed search for a missing utah mother. susan paul -- powell was last seen in december of 2009. her husband is a person of interest in the case. investigators won't say specifically what they're looking for but they say their efforts so far have been successful. >> a search is underway for a gang of have toes who staged a brazen jewelry heist in north hollywood. a backpack full of diamonds worth more than $2 million was stolen. police say a car hit the diamond's owner's vehicle from behind and several suspects

bittersweet sale today in san francisco. the red vick movie house sold movie posters and other memorabilia it accumulated since 1980. the sick ma -- cinema was one the last san francisco neighborhood movie theaters. >> thousands got a taste of the bay today at the third annual san francisco street food festival. organizers expected 50,000 people to attend the mission district festival. 60 vendors were serving up goods to help a nonprofit that provides kitchen space, technical assistance and access to market opportunities. the street foodfest end tonight at 7:00. >> leigh: if we only had time. that looks so good a little bit of sunshine in san francisco. >> alan: barely. >> leigh: in fact, we're going to show you a fun shot here.

the high definition bay bridge cam is pointed towards the san rafael richmond bridge and the overcast it just sat over much of the bay area off and on today, i don't even think the coast really saw at that that much in the way of sunshine but the few peeks of sunshine pushed the high into the mid-to-upper 60s. 66 was the high in san francisco. 59 in half moon bay. you can see the overcast from the north bay all the way down towards santa cruz, monterey bay, antioch, warmest places 81. 75 in novato and 88 in clear lake. obviously with the westerly winds starting to move in through the gate with gusts close to 20 miles-per-hour, temperatures start towing drop off a bit. 60 in san francisco. napa 65. 77 in antioch. 69 in livermore. the low clouds and fog out there

are going to move back inland overnight. we will see some mid-day sunshine in slick indications and we'll see the patchy fog at the coast and get ready for warmer temperatures the middle part of next week. here's a little eddie, an area of low pressure right here that counterclockwise spin. look at the fog off the coast. that's going to push further inland tonight. temperature-wise we'll look for numbers in the 50s. brick in the drizzle coast and bay. 56 for oakland. antioch, 58. and upper 40s extreme north bay locations, an upper level low establishing itself. this is north of the bay area a classic wrap-around counterclockwise motion pushing in the low clouds and fog. so we'll look for a little change sunday afternoon. monday and tuesday this low is

going to kick out of here and a very strong high so just east of it is going to rotate back in and temperatures back in the 90s. tomorrow little change temperaturewise, at the coast look for temperatures in the 50s, the florida will warm into -- peninsula will warm into the mid-70s. and the low clouds and fog will burn back plate the afternoon. 76 for santa rosa. 74 for napa. east bay, oakland, 67. interior east bay, low temperatures will be mild in the 80s. 80 for concord, and we'll go with 79 tomorrow for gilroy. here's a look ahead at the next seven days. warmer temperatures on the way tuesday, wednesday, thursday, back up into then 90s inland. 80s around the bay even mid- -- maybe some upper 60s at the coast. >> alan: i'm sure looking forward to that. you would thick the giants, the
