>> alan: tonight a fire just broke out in san francisco. flames are putting out a lot of smoke in a two-store house an sanchez street. firefighters are on the scene. on the roof, and it looks like they're getting a handle on the fire. we'll have more on it as it becomes available to you. three young people are dead after an internet promoted party got out of hand in san leandro last night. the father of one of the victims is asking the party-goers to do the right thing. we spoke with him this afternoon and we're live in san leandro. >> reporter: police tell us this party was going on last night here at this industrial complex. one of the suites in this complex, and the three victims were shot to death here in the parking lot. that father we talked to says he is devastated at the loss of his 19-year-old daughter. >> roger keel says he woke up

worried because his daughter had not return from a party. then he got a call from his sister about a story. >> there was a party in san leandro, and my daughter said the car -- the vehicle looked like my vehicle. >> this is keel's green ford explorer. he says his daughter, 19-year-old shen niece keel, borrowed it last night to take six friends to the party. >> i'm devastated. i'm looking at the car. i'm looking at my car. with bullet holes in my windshield where i sit. so i know my daughter suffered a horrible death. >> keel says two of his daughter's friends were shot to death. one of them, 16-year-old girl, the other a 20-year-old man. police say the gunfire started after the party let out between 1:00 and 1:30 sunday morning, and it may have been a traveling party so investigators are trying to figure out who organized it. >> this party was advertised apparently on the internet,

seemed the party goers were all throughout the bay area. decent numbers, i'm getting anywhere from 100 to 400 party-goers. >> we found several online posts by people who say they were at the party, including this man who posted on his facebook page, i saw two beauty girls and one boy who may have had kids at home die tonight. this woman posted on her twitter feed, i do really believe that everything happens for a reason. three people died for everybody to get a message. i hope you received it because i did. roger keel says he wants everybody at the party to call police with any information they may have. >> nothing can bring her back, but if i get justice for her, i know my baby can rest in piece. >> rog are keel says he believes this shooting may have been triggered because of an altercation between one of his daughter's friends and two men at this party. police tell us they are still trying to hammer down a motive and so they're still looking for any information. so they're actually asking

anyone who was at this party to call their anonymous tip line, 510-577-3278. reporting live in san leandro, abc-7 news. >> alan: officers who shot and killed a double murder suspect without a verbal warning are standing by their decision tonight in men design know -- mendocino county. blood hounds caught the scent of aaron bassler. he was the target of massive 36-day manhunt after police say he murdered a city councilman and a state conservationist, and shot it out with sheriff's deputies on thursday, and that's why they decided to lay an ambush and kill him without warning yesterday. deputies say there was no verbal exchanges before the shat bassler. he was walking with his finger poised near the trigger of his assault rifle with the safety switch off. residents were not complaining. >> it's a relief it ended,

because it was such stress on the community, 35 days of not knowing if you could go outside at night. >> alan: authorities believe that during his time on the run, bassler broke into six cabins to restock his food supply. bassler's father believes his son has undiagnosed schizophrenia. >> a shooting last night in san francisco's bay view district has turned into a homicide investigation. 21-year-old nick fran died at the hospital after he was shot several times on thomas avenue. the shooting happens about four blocks from where the mayor and police chief met with residents on friday about neighborhood violence. neighbors say the problem is fueled by people drinking and loitering near liquor stores. in contra costa county, sheriffs investigators are calling the shooting death of a man inside a bay point home a domestic incident. it happened around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. a woman said she shot the man who was an intrudesser who

threatened her and her pregnant daughter. the sheriff is not releasing the relationship between the people and no arrests have been made. >> a 100-year-old sewer man collapsed today in san francisco's richmond district, creating a large sinkhole. a two-foot hole opened up on 15 not street. residents say the hole had been there for a while and warning signs had been posted but the hole has been growing larger. >> the underlying problem is that the streets are decaying, and you notice the street has ten and maybe 30-40 patches. and they keep fixing the patches instead of fixing the street. >> alan: water service was not affected, but crews closed the street in order to make temporary repairs. the road should re-open sometime this evening. in palo alto, the city council will decide tomorrow to either reverse a long-standing ban on pot clubs or let the voters decide. supporters gathered enough signatures to get a measure on

the ballot that would allow up to three medical marijuana disciplinaries, the city clerk as the council as the option of adopting the measure or intro duesing a competing measure. supports of medical marijuana will try to get the council to adopt their proposal and save $92,000 in election costs. >> same-sex marriage and the president's healthcare overhaul are two issues the supreme court -- the u.s. supreme court could consider during its upcoming session. a new term begins tomorrow for the high court. today, five justices took part in a yearly tradition. the red mass in washington, dc. the justices are expected to review the constitutionality of the healthcare overhaul. they could also deliberate cases on same-sex marriage, immigration, and affirmative action. >> seven days and 450 miles, all for our nation's veterans. coming up, how cycling is making

moving inland. it has been a nice day today, hasn't it? temperatures climbing into the 70s across much of the bay area, and that's where we have numbers right out in. 71 in livermore and concord. san francisco, still seeing a little bit of sunlight out there. 65. 57 in oakland. 70 in san jose, and los gatos, 70 degrees. here's a look at some of our highlights for next few days. clouds thicken overnight. the rain will arrive for most of the bay area. mid-day to tomorrow afternoon. and then is a mentioned, stronger system will move in late tuesday night into wednesday. you can see it clear eye -- clearly on the satellite. look at this classic shape of clouds. this is where the actual low pressure -- this is the cold front. live doppler 7 hd picking up rain bands moving in towards the north coast. kris -- crescent city to eureka,

and this system is slowly sliding to the south. not looking for rain overnight, but extreme north bay communities may see it tomorrow morning. here's a look at the lows with the clouds moving in. temperatures mid-up to 50ers across the bay area. and this is another look at our satellite radar composite. you can see the rain band starting to touch the north coast here. a ways to go before the front moves through. this system will bring us increasing rain on monday. a little bit of a break tuesday afternoon and then a stronger system moves in tuesday night and early wednesday morning, and this one is going to bring us quite a bit of wind as well. so, let's take you through your day tomorrow. beginning with that 5:00 a.m. commute time, looks like we see any moisture at all it will be well to the north of santa rosa. look how quickly the moisture feed moves in, by mid-day, we look for the rains across the bay area. this is your 5:00 commute time tomorrow evening, wet. we get a little bit of a break

on tuesday and then at 10:00, the system moves in, 3:00 a.m. wednesday morning, heavy rainfall expected and then moves out by mid-day on wednesday so a wet pattern for this work week. up to an inch of rain expected in the north bay through monday night. lesser amounts towards the south bay. and for those of you traveling the high country, winter storm watch already posted tuesday night through wednesday night above 7,000 feet. ten inches of snow expected at the 7,000 foot level. highs for monday, generally in the 60s, few 70s in the east bay, and even when we look for the rain to spread south tomorrow afternoon, watsonville, 66. the seven-day forecast, we are -- i can't show you that. it's going to be wet. >> alan: it will be wet. thanks, leigh. on to shu, who was not surprised at the upset today. >> mike: not at all. the 49ers pulled off an
