about half of those october gains or $5,600, all gone in two days. before leaving on the trip, president obama spoke about the urgent need to put americans back to work. >> i want us to put people back to work, get this economy growing again and remind the entire world just why it is that america's the greatest country th. >> reporter: the vote in greece over europe's bailout could happen december 4th. european leaders have cut off financial aid to greece until the vote. rob and cecilia? >> all right. tahman bradley in washington. thanks, tahman. there is breaking news out of the bay area this morning. police have fired tear gas and flash-bang grenades into a crowd of anti-wall street protesters in oakland. earlier, thousands of those protesters had shut down the city's port, one of the nation's busiest. they also damaged a whole foods

grocery store and several banks in the area. protesters from los angeles and new york were planning their own rallies in solidarity with oakland demonstrators. also, new details this morning in the growing ntroverso controversy that is now threatening to derail the herman cain campaign. a third woman has now come forward to accuse cain of some inappropriate behavior. and the cain camp is blaming a political rival for what it calls a smear campaign. here, now, with more on this is our chief investigative correspondent, brian ross. >> reporter: after two days of talking to reporters everywhere, cain was avoiding them as best he could. >> excuse me. >> gentlemen? >> excuse me. >> reporter: apparently following the advice of a newly hired crisis management team, now dealing with a third allegation of sexual harassment from women who once worked for him. and while they remain unnamed, at least two are well-known inside government circles. one has worked for years as a public spokesperson for federal government agencies. her case appears to be the one

cain has described in his round of interviews, saying she was in communication and is short. >> and i was standing near her. and i did this, saying, you're the fe. >> reporter: the second woman who complained about cain is described by former colleagues as now working as a registered . cain says nothing happened, but that he does recall going out for drinks with her and other employees of the restaurant association after work. >> it was never she and i alone or anything like that. >> reporter: but the incident with the young woman, which took place at a restaurant in crystal city, virginia, was much more serious, according to a former pollster for the restaurant association. chris wilson of oklahoma, now a supporter of governor rick perry, was there, he says, and talked about it on radio station ktok.lks she comes out and talk about it then, it's like i said, i think it will probably be the end of this campaign. >> reporter: a lawyer for one of the women said he had met with his client on wednesday night. and while she wants to restore her reputation and validate her claims against cain, she has

decided not to make any public appearances. instead, the lawyer said, she will likely issue a statement sometime thursday, that does contest cain's version of events, but provide very few details. brian ross, abc news, washington. >> a developing story, to say the least. now, herman cain has blamed rick perry for bringing all of this to light. but is there any proof of that? we'll get later insight on "good morning america." for the first time, we are seeing video of a deadly tourist boat accident on the delaware river in philadelphia. take a look at this video. the collision between a fast-moving barge and a small duck boat happened last year. in the video, you can see how the smaller vessel had no time to get away. earlier this week, the barge captain was sentenced to a year in prison. he was on his phone and laptop prior to that crash. the listeria outbreak blamed on cantaloupe has now claimed another life.

the 29 deaths are the most for foodborne illness since records started being kept. eight people have died in colorado alone, where the cantaloupes were actually grown. the melons were recalled in mid-september. but serious symptoms may not appear for up to two months. and now, for this morning's weather from around the nation. it will be milder in the northeast, with warm weather stretching down into florida. but there will be showers a little further west into the midwest.t will the rest of the midwest will be dry. the southern plains are cooler than usual. and a new front is coming in to the pacific northwest, bringing rain. >> it will be 61 here in new york and baltimore. 55 in detroit. 56 in indianapolis. minneapolis will reach 51. dallas, a cool 57. and 54 in salt lake city. portland is 51. seattle, 47. it will be 80 out in phoenix. >> warm out there. coming up, business news. two, major clothing chains file for bankruptcy. >> one of your faves. plus, money woes at the post office. congress decides what to do with saturday mail delivery.

welcome back, everybody. the debt crisis in greece is the main focus, of course, of that g-20 summit today in france. overseas markets are mixed as investors are keeping their fingers crossed in a solution of all this. tokyo's nikkei was closed today. in london, the ftse opened slightly higher. but it continues to fluctuate because of all of the news out

of greece. on wall street, the dow rose 178 points wednesday. the nasdaq also up 33 points. the outlook for the u.s. economy through 2013 is pretty bleak. that, according to the federal reserve chief, ben bernanke. the fed reduced its forecast for the next two years, saying it had overestimated the nation's recovery. bernanke says the central bank is pushing hard to produce growth and create jobs. sims, which also owns filene's basement, has filed for bankruptcy. and will close its doors by the end of the year. the company cites the sluggish economy and competition from online retailers. and a group of bipartisan senators has announced a plan to save the cash-strapped postal service. among the proposals, eliminating saturday mail delivery within two years. and an idea to offer wine and beer delivery to boost revenues. and we've been driving the chevy to the levy for 100 years.

chevrolet, the iconic general motors brand celebrates its 100th birthday today, with 60% off sales outside of the u.s. chevy is on the road to its best year yet. this morning apple is acknowledging some owners of the new iphone 4s, is experiencing probleming with its battery. apple will release software in the next few weeks that should correct the problem. the angry birds have reached a major milestone. the game has been downloaded 500 million times. users around the world spent an estimated 300 million minutes per day playing it. that's a lot of angry birds. >> staggering figure. staggering figure. well, next on this thursday morning, that picturpicture-per emergency landing in poland. we're hearing from the pilot.

a small part of this video. it's pretty difficult to watch, actually. many are appalled because this man, get this, is the town's family law judge. the nearly eight-minute video was actually recorded back in 2004, showing judge william adams using a belt on his daughter, hillary, punishment for her downloading illegal music on the internet. she uploaded the video to youtube last week. it's now gone viral. the courthouse has been flooded with angry calls and e-mails. court officials have posted a note online acknowledging the video. it's not clear if judge adams can be charged with a crime. he has stepped aside. hillary adams who suffers from a acerebral palsy says she regrets posting that online. closing arguments in the con rod rad murray trial are expected this morning. more than 300 pieces of evidence were presented in the 6-week

trial. murray has leaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter. and lindsay lohan is going back to jail. but maybe only for a day. a judge yesterday sentenced the actress to 30 days for violating her probation. but a jail spokesman says because of overcrowding, lohan may end up spending just one night in the slammer. a blind man is really lucky to be alive this morning, after an accident at a subway station here at new york city. he got a little too close to the edge of the platform and went right over just as the train approached the station. as horrified onlookers watched, that train passed right over him. that's because he had fallen between the tracks. the only injuries in all this are from the fall itself. lucky, lucky guy. in medical news this morning, a huge step forward into detecting skin cancer. the fda has approved a groundbreaking, new device that helps doctors identify melanoma. it makes detailed images of the

skin growth, helping dermatologists decide which moles or freckles are cancerous and which ones are safe. more than 70,000 people in the u.s. will be diagnosed with melanoma this year. a team from boeing is on the scene where the polish plane made a belly landing earlier this week. the 767 suffered a central hydraulic system failure. experts say such a failure is unprecedented in the 767. and highly unusual for really any aircraft. and the plane's pilot has stepped forward to say he is no hero. passengers say the captain set the plane down so smoothly, they thought it actually landed on its wheels. he claims he only did what any other pilot in that same situation would have done. time, now, for sports. we get the latest highlights from espn news. >> good morning. i'm don bell with your espn news update. a big battle in the m.a.c. east. temple, taking on ohio.

baby's birthday very, very special. >> and you'll soon understand why the number one will be playing a major part in this little girl's life for years to come. here's jake taylor from our sister station in idaho. >> reporter: just about everything surrounding the birth of joslyn barnes seems to revolve around the number one. baby barnes was born the first day of november. and of course, win out, the date is 11-1-11. but for first-time mom, nicole barnes, going through labor made for a long day. >> that last day, i really thought she was not going to come. i thought it would be another week. and i just -- it was still hopeless. and then, all of a suddenly, at 10:00 at night, it just happened. >> reporter: but getting to hold her little bundle of joy made a great birthday present. that's right. because mom was born on the same day. >> i think that she's just going to love it. it's going to be a day we'll always share. and celebrate.
