>> a quiet day at "occupy" sf today. police are still asking for information regarding two people who were slashed -- two people who slashed officers yesterday. one officer suffered a cut finger, the other a cut face while trying to get back a stolen radio. police are concerned about the growing number of dogs at the camp. >> immediately vacate the roadways. >> the "occupy" oakland protests ask lated. people came in riot gear after people defied orders to leave by midnight. one protester was carried away from the park but no immediate word on the up number of arrests glierks philadelphia the "occupy" movement is raising serious concerns after a woman was raped. the suspect has been arrested. protesters were told they have until tuesday to leave. >> an update to breaking news we

brought you at 5:00. the milpitas library is no longer under evacuation orders. hundreds of people attending a concert were told to exit the building after people complained of a strange odor. people were given the all-clear. >> sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a paraglider. he was killed on a shield. the authorities were called there after 2:00 this afternoon. sky 7hd was over the escape. the park paramedics tried to revive the victim but were unsuccessful. investigators are trying to figure out exactly what happened. >> to the peninsulas where two people are recovering after they were hit during a drive-by shooting. it happened in menlo park this morning. a 50-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were standing outside a home when a tan, older model sedan, drove up and the passenger started shooting.

the woman will be okay but the 18-year-old victim is still in icu in stanford. >> alan: in san francisco a muni bus killed an elderly man. the 14 mission limited bus was making its way down mission street when it happened at statistic 30 this afternoon. >> an elderly gentleman was jaywalking across mission street, fell down in the roadway, and before anybody could alert the muni driver, the bus pulled out from the curb and the wheels ran over the gentleman. >> the driver is being questioned and will undergo standard drug and alcohol tests. the unidentified man suffered severe injuries to his legs before he died. >> two people suffered minor injuries during an apartment fire in san francisco. the fire started at 8:00 this morning in the rhythm district. you can see the flames in this home video. showing firefighters using a laider to gain access to the apartment. two people were able to get out but suffered smoke inhalation.

fire crews say the fire appears to be accidental. >> tonight, caltrans says it will respond within 24 hours to questions about a technician who worked on the new span of the bay bridge. he is under a federal investigation. the sacramento bee is report egg the technician responsible for testing the structural integrity of the new span was disciplined for fabricating test results on other projects. caltrans officials who are aware of the technician's past never thoroughly investigated his previous work. caltrans says the span is safe and that the technician is on paid administrative leave. >> santa clara city leaders are expected to approve using millions in public funds on the new 49ers stadium project. the city council will vote whether to use $10 million in tax funds to prepare the site for construction. the mercury news reports the city wants to borrow $6 million from the team. the money will be used for

>> as stores gear up for the holiday shopping season there's concern it might actually cost you more to put gifts on layway than to charge it. senator charles schumer is asking retail associations to ask their members to be more transparent about the layway programs. retailers argue the fees are clear. according to the senator the total cost of a layway and the fee canned a up to 40% interest. a elmo doll on layway would be the same as charging it on a credit card with a 105% apr. schumer says that's on top of the $10 fee if you decide to cancel. >> with thanksgiving less than two weeks away, shoppers and retailers are counting down to black friday. >> while there are bargains out there, be prepared to see the cost of everyday things going

up. here's the details. >> reporter: pass the turkey, the stuffing. might as well fork over your wallet, too. a bigger helping the thanksgiving dinner table will mean a bigger bill at the grocery store this year. cooking for ten? that turkey day meal will average 49.40. that's 5.73 more than last year. 13% more. this thanksgiving, a 16-pound turkey will cost 41.57. almost four dollars more. >> prices are up from 3 to 5% this year compared to last year, whether it's the cost of labor, raw materials or transportation. >> going to grandma's home, better hope it's a short haul. thinking of driving instead? that will cost more, too. last year a gallon of gas ran under $3. this year the national average is 3.40s.

taking you through the work week. cold inland tonight. temperatures getting back down into the upper 30s. that valley fog will be with us. sunny and mild through wednesday. and then after that, well, very cold system will move in and cool us down considerably and bring back rain, a possibility of even some higher elevation snow around the bay area as we head into friday night and saturday night. fog, the big concern tonight. the coast and the north bay. napa, 42. 38, santa rosa, 48, san francisco. low 40s in interior east bay as well. now through wednesday, higher pressure is really going to dominate, pushing the storm track. pushing all of this to the north. so get ready for sunny and mild temperatures. tuesday and wednesday, thursday, this high will break down, very strong low developing in the gulf of alaska, and that is where they're going to bring this very cold air mass over the
